T.J., I DID watch the replay. I could easily see you were overdriving but you made it work. Just watching it made MY butt clench up, I can only imagine what kind of shape yours was in

Well, i broke into the 1:55s last night in the Vette on the GP/F track. I think i still have a good 2-3 seconds to pick up. That weird kidney-shaped set of turns really throws me for a loops. Starting to find it's faster to swing WAY wide off the track through the runoff.
What's everyone else seeing?
Haven't done any vette laps yet. Did a few HH laps, but no idea what times I was turning. Had to dial down my brakes and put the big wing back on to make the car better for T1 and the chicane. As it was I'd lock 'em up and end up in a tank slapper. Better with the wing.

T.J., how do you take the wing off??? I never could figure out how to do it.
In your "tuning" screen go to the "body" section or whatever it's called. Uncheck the box where the wing/aero is.

IIRC, I tried that and it didn't work. I'll try again. Thanks! Where I wanted to take it off was Lemans. I'll need it this race though.
BTW, that was fun practicing last night. I definitely couldn't run your pace after you practiced awhile. 1:57 something was my best.

I need to dial it back some... i'm pretty hard on tires at that pace. I'm sure you and Nick saw a lot of drifting from the view behind me.
I've just been going to the car wash/oil change place (GT Auto?) and in the aero section I just select the stock wing. It is different than other tuning parts, because the wing I take off is no longer mine, and I have to buy a new one to go back to the big wing. Didn't think it could be changed on the aero screen in the tuning section. If so, then it will save me a few grand switching back and forth.
Grae, speaking of wings, I noticed that the big wing on the volvo is added on top of the factory wing - not as a replacement for it so you essentially have a double stacked wing.
In reply to T.J.:
I never even noticed that. You'd need a white background to see details on the "Black Brick"
While watching a replay there is a rearward looking view that seems like the camera is on the roof of the car. You can see the double wing stack that way.
A question on the Saloons idea: What should I be looking for when shopping? (I know its not nailed down yet)
Large 4 door cars seem to be very rare in this game, wagons even more so (are there any?). I suspect we are not talking about Evo's and STI's here.
Is this going to end up being a bunch of BMW's?
Just trying to get some options before the next series.

I was able to take it on and off on the Celica...

The biggest most powerful cars you can possibly find?
There's a few Audi wagons and sedans. Most of the good sedans ARE German, but i'll tell you right now i'm not running a BMW.
Maybe a GS300 or a Chaser for me. Or the Lotus Carlton.
I think there's a couple Aussie cars that would fit the bill, too.

I haven't had time to do the specs yet, but I would expect (street) Evos and WRXs to be included... Mercs, BMW, Mazdas, Lotus Carlton... yea all of those. I think there is even an Alfa or two that would work.
Boo Evos and WRXs. Those aren't in the spirit of "big saloons".
That said, I hope to be back for next week.
Hmm, OK, I guess those cars have not shown up when I was looking. I was thinking along the lines of a bunch of land yachts for some reason.
I suspect there is no Maserati Quattroporte...
I will back up Real Mini in pushing for larger cars... if there are enough.
Can we put a clause into place that says 4 cylinders are outlawed?
Jags or Astons are a go i would think.
In reply to 92CelicaHalfTrac and RealMiniDriver:
As I compile a list of the eligible cars, if there is enough that we can get rid of the WRX/Evo, then we will.
Anyone up for some saloon test 'n' tune tonite, then?
I'm kindof burnt out on the Vette at GP/F right now, i did a good 50+ laps last night.
second that, BOO STI's and EVO's! at least the newer ones. Chaser, Carlton, Quattroporte, Jag, Aston, and for wagon, RS6, love all these so whatever you guys decide I have the weapon lol
How was the view from behind me? lol never thought I could drift a Vette on race tires like that
