I don't know how season 1 went since I didn't have a PS3 then, but it seemed that Nick and Chimp had a good track record for high finishes when they finished in season 2.ahhh good times with Chimp and I.... yeah and after season 2 is when my internet started to..well...SUCK. I missed the good first part of season 1 but did a full effort in both Miata and SBC and then TRIED to do season 3. Nick, have you complained to your i/net provider? I'm sure you have but this is why I asked. My i/net used to go off and on all the time. When I used to play WOW it was a big PITA because it happened many times when microseconds mattered. Life or death you know Anyway, a couple of months ago there was a huge thunderstorm here that knocked the power out. Within days the i/net problem seemed to be fixed. Also, I can now have my computer working from the router while the PS is online. The only explanation is that Comcast did something to fix the problem. Same thing happened to my home in Pensacola with the phone system. After a huge storm, I saw repairmen making a major change in the terminal box a block from my house - no more phone problems. If you and your neighbors are having problems and enough of you complain about it, I'll bet it's fixable. Just a thought because we want you back to give us a fit again yeah that list is accurate I would say
Edit: hmmm, posted that in the wrong spot didn't I?
I'm in a bitter duel with ATT right now over my connection issues. They've gotten outrageous. I'm losing connection at least 50 times a day. I'm not paying $170/month for this E36 M3.
BradLTL wrote: Owe! 170 a month!?!? Hell I only pay $105 for 30MB/s plus phone service. Switch dude!
That's for cable and internet. Have the highest tv package (ALL the channels, HD, HD movie channels, blah blah blah) and get this.... 6mb/s internet.
It sucks. I'm going to have to go to Comcast (and i HATE Comcast) if i want faster, due to location. My E36 M3ty connection obviously can't even keep up with what i have. Which is why i'm fully prepared to sue ATT for my money back over the last two years if i have to. They should have known that they couldn't support what i ordered at this distance from the box.
At least you have a choice. At my house I have 1 cable company to choose from and the phone company doesn't even offer DSL. If I want high speed internet it's Comcrap or nothing.
I just got a PS3 and GT5, and I might hook it up online soon. Ive pretty much stalled out around level 15. I need a lambo, Ferrari, or some other MR monster, but its going to take all my money to make it happen.

Cole, I'll loan you one of the "Hot Hatches" I built and tested for next Wed. night's HH race. If you want to do it let me know and I'll go ahead and send it to you. You'll have to go ahead and hook your PS up to the internet. My recommendation is to hard wire it directly to your modem or router with an ethernet cord. Then follow the prompts to download Play Station Network. After you select a username, let me know and you can send me a friend request or I'll send you one. After it's accepted I can gift you the car and if I recall correctly it appears in you delivery truck like a car you win does.
Do you have experience with any of the previous GT series. I just bought mine late last winter and almost immediately joined the GRM forum and found series 2. I entered and have had a blast with these guys. We're racing @ Road Course Daytona next Wed. You can practice your drafting there . . . works gooood.
Trickle being a rather uncommon name, might you be related to the Nascar driver Dick? The first time I saw your name that came to mind.
Let me know if you want to use one of my cars. The Integra R, Honda CRZ, and Ford Focus are all very fast and I'd suggest you choose one of those for best results. There are other fast cars running in the series but I didn't build them. Of those 3 cars, I was fastest in the Honda CRZ.

Thanks Graefin! I have to move a bunch of stuff to get the PS3 near the modem, but I will def be working on it! The Cole Trickle name is just my little ode to my favorite movie as a kid, Days of Thunder. I just bought a used 1990 ZR1 and immediately regretted it. I'm trying to decide whether or not to sell my bonus cars for more cash. I wont ever race them, but come on, a German military vehicle is cool.
In reply to Cole_Trickle:
I'm embarassed. I knew I'd heard the name Cole Trickle. Now I recall where. Wow, it's been a long time since I saw that one. I only watched it once when my ex and I rented it. In general, I don't like racing movies.
If you want quick cash in the game get online and play the seasonal events. There are lots to choose from and they require different cars. I'd guess that whatever car you have you can find a seasonal event to win cash. Those things let you get 300,000 credits for 5-6 minutes of 'work'. Easy money.
I use the PS3's built in WiFi adapter to connect to the net and it works well for me, so if you have WiFi network in your house already it may be easier than running an ethernet cable.
I've got a couple hot hatches I could give you as well if you plan on running Wednesday. I have a couple Civic type R's, a Volvo, and maybe another one or two that are all prepped for our hh series.
Cole, once you get your PS3 online, add me (RealMiniDriver) to your friends list. I'll share my pasta rockets online, so you don't have to buy them. I've found that many of the prize cars can't be sold. You can delete them, but get no credits for them.
Also, start a B-spec driver. Share him online, and we'll work him for you. Easy credits that way, too.

HAHAHA what!?
yeah I have no idea what i'm gonna do with my internet
I love how everyone is eager to share the cars that they determined were not fast with a newbie. That's the spirit guys!
Cole... we would love to have you race with us this week. This series is almost over, but it is good to get in a race and see what it like running next to other drivers. We can be a bit unpredictable. Generally we have good manners... right up to the point where we lose control and wreck, then we are very sorry if we took you out too. As for cars, I really like driving the CRZ, but was several seconds slower in it. If you are going to build your own car, it will be about 100k in CR to modify it. If you are tight on cash, take someone up on their offer to borrow a car (its only 1 race) and build for the next series.
In reply to BradLTL:
I've got to admit I was very surprised at how close I could get in that car to the Volvo. Only 1300cc. The batteries charge condition didn't run down like I thought it would. I was tempted to try it even though I knew it was a little slower. It sure was easier to drive than the Volvo.
In reply to Graefin10:
I was almost 5 secs a lap slower at MSR, and the batteries died after 3 laps.
I really wanted to run it, but it just wasn't fast enough.
In reply to BradLTL:
THAT'S what I expected to happen, so I ran severel laps to see. Mine must have been broken.
Hey, i offered up my volvo.....a car that i was faster at every track that i tested than my dc5. The volvo just felt a little ho hum compared to the civics and integra.
I have an Integra all set up you can have also. It was pretty fast for me, but I liked the way the Focus handled a bit better. It does make some interesting sounds though. (VTEC yo)
If you are running low on cash for next season, let us know. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a large collection of cars I will probably never use.
BTW - We are expecting Cole Trickle to do good next season in what is effectively is a NASCAR as it should be race. Just remember, the cars are twice as heavy and the tires are half as wide as those open wheels you have driving.
I'll list what i've got fully prepped sometime tomorrow. I've got some pretty fast ones, but i ended up picking the Clio just because it was funny.
I know i have the Integra Type R/RSX, all the Celicas, and of course "The Pig."
If you're man enough to haul close to 600hp in FWD form around a track with us.. you can have at it.
I should be on for Daytona, but I probably wont be on much after that, least until Sunday or Monday.
Have to go help my Mom babysit my Grandmother for a few days until my Grandfather gets back from the mountains
looks like I may be missing out for tomorrow My buddy got the 4 links for his truck so it's time to bag that thing!
