Got my box the other day, sorry it took so long to post up.

Good stuff here along with a very nice personalized letter. How you guys figure out who's who is beyond me. Sorry, I sold the S10 shortly after the 2017 Challenge.  Feel free to PM me with questions about it.

Woot-Woot! On to the loot!

Gasket cutter set. This this is great. A set of round 'punches' that look sort of like sockets, but sharp to make clean holes on material.

Old school brace and bit drill. Classy!

A wine bottle that lights up and is wrapped in lights. Even classier!

Stubby phillps screw driver

10mm Deep well socket. (so that's where it went...)

Great beer cozies. The Old Style one is awesome!

Knob made from a wooden Jack Daniels cap and a lug nut. Need to find a good use for this.

Some air filters for small power equipment

vinly repair kit

LED touch light

Cool decals

A big bag of scrap metal from a Challenge car build

The box it all came in has dates and zip codes noting its travel over the years. I will continue this for sure!

Hopefully you can use the jack knob for something cool. I was most excited about that piece.

But the wine bottle should make a pretty cool lamp too (stretch out the cord and plug it in). And you could probably even get away with keeping something like that inside!

A semi serious discussion is underway regarding a recon mission.  We had close to a foot of snow yesterday so some patience will be needed.   I don’t even know if it’s there for sure.  Charlie mentioned it in passing one time when we were talking cars, in hindsight I should have had him take me on a field trip on warm day.  If it’s there and I can find it I’ll start a separate thread.   Y’alls are persistent enablers. devil

A cheap-ish metal detector would probably help.  Hell, might be fun for the whole family!

The family project part is the angle I’m working!  If I know my boy Charlie, it’s on blocks if it’s there.   I’ll also dig around and see if I scanned the picture of him in the car.    There’s 3 or 4 acres of woods behind the house, I’ve never been beyond the back yard.

Edit: Found the pic and posted it in random pictures.  It’s a 1934 5 window coupe based on the hood louvers.

Finally getting around to posting pics of my haul.

And then there's this.  Steering wheel hub/release.  Sweet!

To idea who sent it though.  Anyone wanna fess up?

The eagle has landed!

Fortunately, no meows detected.

I was too excited to take pictures while unpacking, so here's everything!

Lots of cool stuff - everything from some random spark plugs to a couple brand new rolls of Tesa tape. Also a few boxes of little rubber grommets, which I'm sure will come in handy. And, a BIG stack of rockauto magnets.

Some interesting books:

A pile of license plates to add to the collection:

And the piece de resistance, a set of throttle bodies from a cbr1000rr. Looks like these are an appropriate size for a Miata. Trying to tell me something? I certainly can't leave out the El Camino badge. Maybe I need an El Camino...

I thought this was funny/appropriate too - an actual Unit skate tool! These things are now the domain of cheap Chinese knockoffs, but this looks like the genuine article.

Thanks Travis/ maschinenbau!

I had so much stuff that just wouldn't fit, so I guess I've got a head start on NYG22. This one will be dropped off on Monday 1/10, headed somewhere in the Midwest.

You're welcome! I've had that Unit since I skated in middle school, over 15 years ago. Probably haven't used it since then! That's not even a fraction of the Tesa tape, grommets, and license plates I have. I'm trying to collect all 50 states and those are duplicates. All the random suspension pieces are Triumph Spitfire or TRsomething I think. I ordered a bunch of wrong parts for my Europa and they weren't worth returning. Actual El Camino badge off my actual El Camino. I replaced them with shiny new ones years ago, and kept one for the toolbox. And I honestly don't remember why I bought those throttle bodies on ebay several years ago, but enjoy!

My victim's box made it to the post office, and I've opened mine from Ed Higginbotham. Thank You Ed for the cool box o stuff.

First up: stickers. I love stickers. especially with a racecar on them.  The Racer Walsh one is going on the toolbox when I hop out there.

Then we have parts, a set of Auto Meter gauges, hood pins, a thermostat, and a rubber boot of some type.

Tools!  None of my other multi-tools have a hatchet on them.

Then come the toys! A charger hot wheels, a couple IMSA glasses, a Cracker Barrel peg game  and a Greenwood Corvette. I had a number of the Rebel version of this kt but never found the Stars and Stripes Version.

Glad you enjoyed it! The rubber boot is a shifter boot for a first-generation Miata. Thermostat is for an E36. Those Martini glasses were part of gift bags IMSA gave out to the hoity-toity sponsor executives for the first year of the Tudor Endurance Series. They found their way into my backpack on my way from the IMSA office to the GRM office.

I sent my box to my victim out in Florida. I feel like I did a better job targetting things in previous years. Clearly I needed to be on the video chats, but they are difficult with my schedule. It should still have some fun stuff.

And on to the unpacking. I have seen that the opening process can be something special, so I broke out the Panamanian machete that was brought home from the Spanish American war.

And we're in. Right on top, some really cool custom decals. I forgot to photograph the dumpster fire characters, but that's because I was so impressed with the Ed Roth tribute Rat Fink characters.

Then, a bunch of badges from various cars (always cool), and a full set of Hotwheels.

Cassette tapes (Monkees and The Grassroots!), books, more music (lullaby Metallica!)...

The COPO Camaro book is awesome!

A tool that I've seen, but don't recognize. Fuel cap for a boat? IDK. More Hotwheels, and the Dumpster Fire characters.

Some Mitsubishi module, and whole bunch of relays.

Whistle, micro camera, ratcheting screwdriver, pinewood derby accessory pack B,   Mazda 3 owner's manual, gas cap...

My wife grabbed the post it pack, "Those are mine." The cat went for the plushy toy.

There's more, but I've got to get some sleep. Here's an overview

it's still a mystery who dropped this off. I think I know, there's at least one forum member here in town.

Overall, a fun event and cool stuff.  Some very lucky forum member is going to receive this box next year, that is if I can bear to part with it. The art is definitely the best part from this year for me!

Thanks talented benefactor! And thanks for coordinating the game again for another year, Hungary Bill!

The tool is a chuck key for a DeWalt angle grinder. The fuel cap and the lug nuts are spare from a mazda3, should fit the van that was listed in your profile. The little camera thing is just that, a small video camera. It's rechargable, and runs off mini USB. Videos transfer directly via removable storage file transfer. It's very low tech. A lot of the stuff came from a junkyard run- obviously relays modules and assorted badges. The hot wheels were a miracle find in cocoa beach at Publix of all places.  Stickers, yeah those were all drawn by me and cut with my cutter, the original Mickey design is on the side of the box Stafford got last year.

Admittedly, I was mildly concerned about the Honda manual, you'd actually had me a few years ago and I couldn't remember if I had gotten it from you or not.

I think this is the first time I've done entirely original characters on a box, most previous years have had.matt groening characters of some type- I'm a big Futurama fan.

The one thing I will say is, your home was not my original plan. You were outed almost immediately by someone I know, so I had your s/n and address, and coincidentally, your occupation. My ORIGINAL plan was to drop it off at your work, but I couldn't for the life of me get google to resolve your practice address, so your house was a safe bet. It was convenient as heck too, I'm actually going to be back in DeLand for a show at the davinci cafe on the 30th, one of my favorite bands is playing, and it gave us a chance to scout the area. It's absolutely beautiful, but getting there was a Lil scary. There were a few deliverance moments on the way lol....but that's Florida.

Edit- the bottom left hot wheels, facing left, doesn't make a lick of difference, but out of the dozen or so on the rack, it was the only one of that model facing left. I know it's not considered an error by most enthusiasts, but I thought it was neat.

Those are...actually a product of the 2020 box as well. I had drawn one on the side of that box (because let's face it, 2020 was a dumpster fire) but that particular one didn't translate well to vinyl. Convenient for me I spent waaaaay too much money on digital art stuff and have a really nice drawing tablet desk ornament. Banged out a sticker friendly one and sent it. Those are exceedingly rare too- there's only one other one in the wild. There's at least 5 Mickey's loose at this point.

Well, I hadn't guessed that it was you, especially since you have to cross Orlando on I4 to get here (something to be avoided whenever possible).

Great job on the artwork, and on the box as well.

Special thanks for the COPO book, which is perfect to be gifted to a long term and very close friend. He is actively shopping for a muscle car era Chevrolet for Strictly Stock drag racing. Of course, I'm also lobbying for letting me autocross it in CAM T.

Yes, that's probably the Honda manual that I sent you, which is really cool, because it embodies the spirit of the game.

Thanks again!

Ok so- what you've got there is, from what I can remember: wooden wheel chock that came with the 1977 Cadillac, manual from my 85 Celica, round lamp regifted from years ago box from java0223, matchbox cars and spork regifted from Wally, a bunch of random garage stuff, what I think may be a GM thermostat of some flavor, a hub adapter that should fit most 80s-early 90s Toyotas, and a bunch of decals including some rally decals you can only get by going to those events.  Enjoy!
