A NYG box arrived; and GRM the same day!
I haven't finished my outgoing box yet. Working on it
tfw dropping off a box of near-junk car parts, christmas cookies, stickers, and beer to an internet friend across the country:

What's the problem?
The rules are to keep username and person sending separate. Not really any way I could do that except to leave off a return ID.

Or make something up, or say "Santa," or realize that nobody will report you to the NYG Police for a rules infraction and just join in on the fun.
I got a box! I got a box!
An air filter for Mercedes SLK's and apparently something Toyota as well :)
Stickers! My son claimed the Giga Pudding one.
A pretty heft c-clamp that has somehow managed to be bent, curious about that story on that one! An air cleaner lid that looks similar to the one I used to have on my X1/9, and an intermittently working tachometer :)
An Illinois license plate, a 6 lug wheel adapter, a shop vac filter (?) and a bag of assorted bearings & rods
And what looks like a trunk lock assembly, and a wrench holder :) Thanks! Looks like the one I sent may be to it's intended victim Wednesday according to tracking :)
Happy Day! I heard that the box I sent was received and mine arrived in today's mail. A Box of cool stuff from Trent.
I'm seriously considering putting the Italian rear view mirrors on my 914 which came with the cheapest mirror I've seen on the driver's side and no passenger side mirror. The VAG COM Cable will work on my Touareg and I think it also can communicate with some of the Porsche modules. I used some isolator mounts like that on a motorcycle project recently and may put these to use.
A variety of abrasives with a good set of twist-locks for getting into smaller places.
A cool Ferrari mug (not to be confused with a Stanley) that I may keep or gift to my son in law to go with his Fauxrrari.
Thanks!

Those mirrors are supposed to be the gag gift. They were such poor quality knockoffs I couldn't NOT buy them. They were made for the new years game.
Trent said:I hope there is a sticker inside...
Oh boy, is there ever!
How many? All of them it seems.
Stickers in there range from parts box stuff (common) to a few rallies (less common) to some rally team stickers (pretty hard to come by) to some one-off custom stuff from Mndsm. The box art is his too.
Cool old Ampmeter, Some JIC fittings, bowls or center caps? The oil filter was stolen immediately as was for one of my techs ecoboost Ranger. Flex fuel sensor? some socket adapters, wheel weights, fresh magnet on a stick (I JUST got a new one last week too)
The fittings are for some sort of in-radiator oil or transmission cooler, from what I can remember. Glad somebody could use the filter, it's been kicking around for a while. The flex fuel sensor is for an FRS/BRZ but presumably will work on whatever if you have the ability to tune for it. The wheel weights are smaller/lighter motorcycle stuff that I thought might work ok on a tiny Fiat if needed.
Someone knows I am selling all my cars and put in a sign Bumps stops, the heaviest weld nuts I have seen, Andre the giants Q-tips, Some new sway bar end links ( OK this is almost creepy as I have a drawer of old ones that I keep for inspiration and one in particular was cut and welded to almost exactly this length to fit one of my projects)
The chonky weld nuts are what I use on the rally car, had a few extras laying around so I figured I'd send them in case you need to mount something beefy. I think I sent M8x1.25s? The huge Q-tips are from a years-ago box from EvanB I think, I kept some since I do occasionally find something that they're the right tool for. The end links are either an 08-14 Impreza fitment or E36, I don't remember and could be wrong on both. Also, that size super bounce ball makes a great shift knob if you glue your insert of choice into it, I had one on the rally RX7 and our 318ti.
A FREAKING radar gun!! I plugged it in and it lit up and then told me my hand was moving 20 radar units when I waved at it.
It does seem to work, and I used it to clock some stuff for fun- honestly I enjoyed just looking at the thing more than using it.
Glad you like the stuff!

That heavy black metal thing with a bolt through it is a punch and flare die. Give it a shot on sheet metal up to 16ga.
In reply to Trent :
Oh, nice! I hadn't opened it up last night and thought it was just for clamping.

Yeah man. I have actually been out of the game for a few years after and this was a nice return to it
Box acquired from post office.
Stuff has been piling up in the garage for sending.
Gonna hopefully send it out in a few hours!
Mndsm said:bombs away. Headed...north. (I don't know that it could head south?) Should be there the 8th. Prepare for disappointment.
The artwork is fabulous in person. Also, the addresses you laid out are awesome. Especially my "business" name. Lolz. Unpacking should happen tonight!
I've officially given up on my first attempt to mail a box of E36 M3 across the country, and have launched a second attempt. Box #2 is packed full, but less tailored to the recipient and about six pounds lighter. I didn't have any stickers left. Sorry.
My BIL at the post office assures me that Box #1 is most likely just sitting at the bottom of a bin in Springfield waiting for some incompetent postal worker (Doh!) to reach down deep and lift it up and out to send it on its way. I hope that if it does ever arrive at its destination, it gets posted here because it does have some cool stuff in it.
So I finally had time to open and photograph the box I received from Michigan!
I'm pretty certain that I recognize this box from previous years!
Opened up!
A neat Porsche calendar, relatively recent Sportscar magazine, and an Okie license plate!
Stickers! I think I like the shift-tree Detroit on the best, though the Traxxas one made me smile since I used to race RC cars (and I got sent a brushless RC car motor a few years back- maybe I'll eventually get sent enough parts to build a full car!)
Tiny cars! I really love the MR2s- an AW11 is one of the cars from the years of my youth that I would still love to own one of, though it increasingly seems like that's unlikely to ever happen (both due to their diminishing numbers and the considerable decrease in the amount of time I have to work on anything...).
Car parts! A nice boost gauge (though sadly I don't have any use for it, nor does it seem likely I will anytime soon), a whole mess of gaskets & rings apparently for a GM TBI setup, and a nice clamp-on phone holder.
More parts- a set of what look to be motorcycle/scooter turn signal/indicator lights, what I think is a throttle cable bracket, and a bunch of clips (some of which I think are for holding sockets).
I was at first very perplexed by what these black plastic panels were, but after pulling enough out I got to the box that showed that they are socket organizers! These might prove useful for organizing the sockets that aren't on my main organizer. :)
Some magnets, screw-in hooks (these will likely get put to use if I ever have time to clean/organize my garage), a rear-view mirror (I sent one out myself years back- I doubt this is the same one, but that would be amusing!), a spool of flux? (the label is torn), a door lock & key, 2 hockey pucks (I also sent some of these out years ago- and may have a use for them if The Dancer does indeed want me to resurrect the waterfall machine for her 10th anniversary show...), 2 window crank trim disks?, a Porsche wheel center cap (I think), a radiator drain cock, and a package of welding tips.
Getting down toward the bottom- a set of precision Torx drivers, 2 black marbles, a magnetic oil pan drain plug and (I think) the gasket for it, and a socket contraption I've not been able to figure out.
Finally- something that I was quite surprised about as I'd not have thought of this ever- an old but still quite functional and usable (not for calls I imagine, given I think it's likely old enough to use the current cell standards) cell phone- with a note attached to add photos and pass on!
There are a bunch of pictures already on it including a number in a 'add-GRM-Pics' folder of cars. This was quite cool- I will definitely have to make an effort to take pictures with it throughout the year when I'm working on stuff (which means hopefully there will be a bunch of working on the DMC...). Thank you!

I guessl I'm a serial rulebreaker then ;)
string me up for putting my name on the return address.
I am sad I am missing out this year, but next year I will have had more time in my shop to have more goodies to send along! Watching because this is so much fun regardless!
In reply to Greg Smith :
I use a "name looking" username only as misdirection. My name is actually John Jacob Jingleheimer-Schmidt.
Well.... we are getting a bunch of weather right now. Box might not make it to the poat office until Saturday. Poo.
In reply to wvumtnbkr :
Yeah, you're seeing the same storm that's giving us tornado warnings right now. Be safe, nothing in that box has an expiration date... I think. It can wait.
