Also, next time, who's up for separate Univox chat room? I have two and a half Hi Flyer basses plus this.
I just have one Badazz bass, I'd love to find a Hi-Flyer guiter or bass but not at the prices I usually see on them.
I'd be up for some separate music gear conversation.
Great idea, somehow I missed this. I'll possibly join you on Tuesday.
It was much needed engagement for me. I'm behind on the boredom curve as this is now my 4th day of being physically able, but I'm also under a much snore strict quarantine than most. It was definitely nice to be able to show how mended I am and to be able to talk and express the urgency of how quickly things can change when battling covid-19. Stay hydrated and stay safe. I'm looking forward to Tuesday. You all have me motivated to tinker on some things for the escort.

Mike,
Thanks for the note and for. being on the call. It was fun to watch the work you were doing and do the commute home in your stick shift Olds! It was fun trying to parse what you were driving. If you ever have time to do a walk around on some of the rigs you work on it would be cool.
See you Tuesday.

The gang's all here.
I see you managed to capture my 30 year old futon with the 80's tastic pad cover! Whoo Hoo! While I was not sitting on it...
I know I showed up late, didn't say a lot, and left early, but I did enjoy the time I spent hanging out. Thanks to Hobiecr/John for setting this up!
We now have a topic for Tuesday! FlaDiver64 (Mike) is going to walk us around his Challenge Q45 (ex-Stampie) project, show us the progress and ask for advice on a couple of issues! I'm looking forward to seeing how this works and hopefully being able to do more.
If anyone else wants to host or do a walkaround on a project, send me a PM.
In reply to secretariata :
You don't know vintage futon
Original post updated with list of upcoming chats/times/topics.
If you have an idea for a chat, send me a PM and we'll add it to the list.
In reply to captdownshift :
Looks like you got me beat on the vintage aspect, but mine has full arms and the seat is tilted back so you can't get out of it when set up as a seat & not a bed. One is also far less likely to roll out on the floor when passed out drunk on it...not that I've ever done that!

Tuesday should be good. I will likely move myself to the garage so I disturb the family less. Especially with as long/late as these chats have potential to run
Mike(Fladiver), did you get my reply email?
In reply to EvanB :
I was lucky and got one of my Hi-Flyers before prices went up. I paid just a few bucks more for the second one, but it's even more mint. The amp was a total lucky score and I love it.
I'd love to find a Univox P-bass and a Univox Dan Armstrong-type bass.
In reply to secretariata :
Mine goes to a full queen, which is pretty nice. But the deep upright seating position isn't the greatest for lounging. I enjoy the MCMness of it though.
In reply to gumby :
Yes I did, Kurt and I spend some time today going over the suggestions and I think we have a plan. If I get some time I may start cutting today or tomorrow and have something to show for Tuesday. We are going to follow your plan fairly closely
Sorry dumped beer on laptop last night.... Missed the fun. Maybe next week if I can bring it back to life.
In reply to java230 :
You can also join via phone or tablet. Heck, just about any device.
In reply to John Welsh :

The way my home desk is set up, it's a necessary evil. There is literally just enough room between the desk and the book shelves behind me for the chair. David's screen capture was a perfect synopsis of my evening.
hobiecr asked me to post my plans for Tuesday night, since this is the first time I have dont this or seen it done not exactly sure what is expected but my intension is to have some fun with it and enjoy sharing our project with guys that will appreciate the effort and craziness.
1. First and overall walkthrough ont he car as it sits and what we have done. Probable adding in some of the why we did it.
2. Sharing the current vision for the rest of the car in a general sense, there are plenty of things we have planned that I am sure will change with new ideas and time.
3. Specifically go over our design/ideas for the front and rear suspensions. We have swapped in a C4 front cross member and are planning a rocker style suspension with inboard shocks. At the rear we want to continue that theme with cross mounted in board coilovers for the rear end.
Should be fun, looking for any ideas and suggestions.
This is probably a good place to put a link to the Fladiver project thread for anyone who wants to get "up to speed" on project background...

Someone may want to post up over in the main section of GRM as there may be some people that don't look at the off topic section as much.

Damn sad I missed this.
You didn't miss it for tonight, though.
I may try to make it for tonight's, sounds fun
I'll unfortunately be at work tonight during this one. If we do another Friday one I'll be there for sure though.
