Sorry if its a repost, but I think that he did this on the first take considering that there are no tire marks anywhere when he begins. Unless he set it up elsewhere and practiced for days...

Same old same old, but I do totaly dig the late 70's early 80's style front wheels with the brake cooling discs/blades on the outside.
Couple of things I noticed, that I liked.
The wheels are far more "rally" than previous offerings. The fins as Adrian pointed out, were super sweet.
He appears to be getting back to basics. This is the closest he's done to the first one since well.... the first one.
He appears to have improved his driving skill a great deal.
Couple things that I noticed that I just... noticed?
I REALLY dislike his ebrake handle. I get it, but its not for me.
Someone is exceedingly brave for loaning him TWO lambos for this.
I'd really like to see another driver (as much as I dislike the guy, Foust would be the first name I came up with) try this.
My two year old loved it.
Don't mind seeing what he does next. Even if he uses some stuff he's done before.
For the film guys, I've been seeing this for a while, but how do they pull off the camera view where the view is away from the car, but its like the camera is attached to the car because its moving with the car? Best example is at 1:06 and 4:15.

I liked that trick, too. I'm assuming there's a gopro mounted on some sort of high, angled mount.
These vids are fun and I'll continue to watch them.
I noticed an elevated number of blockhead comments coming through the book of faces......I've blocked block from my newsfeed.

I was wondering the same thing. A camera on a mount hanging off the back of the car like a lawnmower handle could work, but you don't see it.
I like the "back to basics" idea but it's too bad the stunts have been scaled down along with the theatre and gimmicks. Although doing donuts under the propped-up excavators ranks pretty high in danger.
As for his handbrake handle...the guy's never had good taste IMO, let's not forget this is one of the pioneers of flatbiller fashion we're talking about

Basically you mount the Go Pro in such a way where the mount only obscures car (since it is static relative to the camera. Then you can shoot a static shot from the same camera position and overlay it on the moving footage to "erase" the mount.
It's a little more complicated than that because you have to match lighting and vibration and whatnot, but that's the basics.

Those are the turbofans to "cool" the front brakes. "Functional", but they are just for looks. I honestly don't like them, but they have gotten a lot of attention.

Eric, I don't get the hate. So 3 wins, a 2nd a 6th and 2 retirements isn't good enough this year. So he's not Loeb or Ogier and isn't going to win the WRC, but he's a solid National level driver who also has a great marketing machine he's created to pay for his chance to play. Wouldn't you if you could?

Took Salem, MO five years in a row and wrecked this year. That's racing.
Just checked his Rally America history. 15 wins over the years. Not too shabby, and let's not forget even though he's not competing in the WRC anymore, his one off drive in Mexico he placed 7th. That's really not a bad result.
I don't know how he got the reputation of an also-ran racer, he's not Loeb but he's a regular podium finisher with a good share of wins.

I'm not hating, I was really rooting for him when he was one of the factory drivers in the WRC.
If you are asking whether I would watch/participate in figure skating (even in an obstacle course) vs. Hockey, well, I know that answer. I would consider paying for his sponsors if he gathered significant points in a series. Not so much for just basic entertainment.
edit- apparently I'm missing the whole Rally American scene. Rallying in the US USED to mean something, and got TV time. And it used to be on the WRC schedule at multiple places. Alas, it is not. So my preception is that he's an also ran in significant series. And I have no info to change that preception.

Yeah, no hate here. No rabid flat-bill fanboi-ism, either, but he does stuff that I doubt anybody I know personally could do. I'm not going to complain about him. (...and yes, I still prefer the goofy fun of wagon attack II, but that's a separate thread.)
Meh.
I understand that it's entertainment to some people, but it just looks so self congratulatory to me, it comes across as being in very bad taste.
That aside, the guy is a very good driver. To race at that level, in those series is very impressive. The videos, not so much.
I had classical music playing in the background without even realizing it wasn't supposed to be there... I was listening to this song as he was going through the shipping containers labeled 1-9 (and wondered what happened to "9" in the song): http://youtu.be/jeEobpQMgD4?t=59s

Because flat-bill
One thing I did notice was not as many pre-existing skid marks, so they've either gotten better at erasing them or maybe this isn't a "we did eleventy billion takes and this is the best one" sort of production.
Not earth shattering, but my 12 year old liked it and I don't want my 5 minutes back, so I guess it wasn't terrible.
