Not a Marine, but my grandfather was one. Served in WWI in France.
Thank you for your service from a grateful civilian!
until this summer my roommate was a former marine. Loose remembrance is that on being promoted his fellow Pollack superior basically asked if he was going to shame their shared heritage with the promotion to Sarge. No room for wimps there. His father also told him as a high schooler when his wrestling coach was pushing him up a weight not to be a Bob Costas. The same father that pushed him out of the way hunting to take the buckshot from another careless hunter. God I love Americans.
My father was a Marine in WW2. I never served, but I have run your Marathon three times. Thank you for serving, and of course, OORAH!
I know quite a few Marines (no such thing as former in my book.) They are different, when you know what to look for. More focused. More motivated.
Thank you , all, for what you do.
Lots of respect for Marines, but their birthday is about a month after the Navy's, so happy birthday little brother.
Happy Birthday Devil Dogs!
I met some amazing people while on active duty. While stationed in Florida, I had the honor of serving in a joint unit with the Army, Navy and Marines. Some of the best people I met in my career were Marines. Plus they knew how to party!
I have an family friend who's dad is an ex Marine.
Who is a fire fighter (captain).
Who retired yesterday.
Who spent his last two days fighting fires in Thousand Oaks.
Who's long time friend, who he meet when he worked as a mechanic for the fire department, son was killed at the Borderline on Friday...
...it's been a hell of a week for that devil dog...
