I suspect you are correct. The quality of writing on this board is significantly higher than the average. Btw, if you want some help, please drop me a PM. I'm not super experienced, but I do have a backlog of material (two other novels, a textbook) that are all sort of getting published at the same time. I'd be happy to lend whatever expertise I have to your cause.

The Blackguard is about a community of very isolated white supremacists getting run over by urban sprawl and facing the annihilation of their culture. Whether or not that is a good thing, ultimately, is I hope a very difficult question for the reader to answer. The major characters are a ruthless civil engineer trying to steal the town's water resources, a civil rights leader trying to set up a cultural zoo and the town's charismatic leader.
So basically, 50% corporate thriller and 50% head up its own ass literary novel.
