That's because you have the Gulf Stream still warming the east coast. While we have the great frozen tundra and arctic blasts. America's version of Siberia
Amazing that some of our species choose to live in the uninhabitable regions north of the 42nd parallel.
Enjoy freezing yer bums off, eh?

As someone who has lived here all of his 50 years... I agree. I don't know why humans live here.

My morning getting ready for work..
This is about 20 minutes after I cleared the driveway. Going to have to clear it again when I get home and I bet there is a big berm from the snowplow when I arrive home this afternoon ( in the berkeleying DARK!)!
We woke this morning to the years first snow and schools closed.
This is 7:30 am sledding on our back yard hill. She really wanted to go out at 6am (still dark) and I held her off to 7:30

I'm jealous of your 60 degrees, but I think Florida in the summer is as uncomfortable as ohio in the winter. To each his own.
It's one thing to be jealous of the 60° in Florida during the winter. But the real jealousy should set in when everybody compares the time of sunset. Length of day during the winter is what really makes me want to move south.
We even had a pinch of snow here in Georgia.
Not enough to have anyone run to the grocery store to get milk and bread for a milk sandwich party, but rather surprising for the first day of December.
We had our first snow fall in mid October. 4 more since then, but it keeps warming up in between. Today is 42. I've been out golfing the last two weekends.
It was in the upper 50’s to low 60s here in eastern MA for most of last night and today, we ended up on the warm side of the snow storm those west of us “enjoyed”. It’s cooling down quickly tonight, fun’s over for now. It’s been unusually warm this Fall, we’ve only had 4 or 5 truly cold nights so far.

The advantage of living in the arctic tundra is that we live longer. ( no comments about freeze dried keeping better )

But at what cost?
I'll be heading up north (Jacksonville) for an autocross on Saturday. Predicted high of 65.
I'll leave the heat loving rivals in the garage, put the old re-71's on. My version of a snow tire.
I was sad we only got like 2 inches of snow yesterday. First year I've ever owned a 4wd truck I want a few feet of snow so it feels worth it

42nd parallel? My snowy picture above was taken south of the 42nd in the 41st parallel range. Actually, just about 10 miles west and not appreciably south of the Most Souther Point of all the Great Lakes.
