I have some hard limits on screen size I can fit in a car.  I went to Crutchfield to look for single DIN Multimedia units and they all have massive screens that will not work. I went straight to Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer, again every screen is too tall. Honestly, I don't know any cars they would fit.

I currently have one of these Amazon cheapies in my Caddy.

It is the perfect size.  It does everything I need (backup camera, screen dimming with dash lights, wireless Car Play/Android Auto).

It is good enough for my use, but I am loathe to install a sub $100 unit in a customers car.

Does anyone know of a high quality or decent name brand version of the above unit?

I have a Boss single-din unit in the Saab that has the larger screen that attaches via a ball joint.  It's worked pretty well in that car.  It's the BVCP9700A and I got it from Amazon.  I know Boss is supposed to be crap, but for $170 with a 3 year warranty, I'm not inclined to complain.  You can step up to the BE10ACP from Crutchfield for $300 and get a 5 year warranty.  That said, the unit that I put in my wife's car - not one of these, but their double-DIN unit - did start to act up after almost 3 years, but I just got a new one under warranty to put in, so I'm not that worried about it.

I thought about the pop out screens or the ball joint variety, but when open, they will block the HVAC controls and that ain't cool with me.
