My family just rescued a puppy today and we need help with a name. His mom was an Aussie mix, no idea about the dad. He's 8 weeks old and is a typical puppy. So, just looking for ideas for names.

Looks like a Bert to me.
We named our new puppy "Roger" when we got him from the pound back in 1988. Can't remember the reason why we named him that. Great name. Great pet. We really loved him. Had to put him down in 2000. That was a real tough day.
... but I always thought that if we got another dog, we'd name him "Buddy." I like that too.

Naming him was tough, each kid had an idea, each parent had ideas too. We all decided on Indy.

Champion Indy Ted Morris Pilkinton III, Esq.

I used to work for a guy with a dog named "Bondo"
Just went through that! Five family members came up with five choices each, and then rated all the other choices one to five. Tallied the votes and it was Hemi by a few points. And then my wife put her foot down and vetoed the democratic choice so he is called Nitro instead. My personal favorite was Bacon.
