Cool, that's a good interview. He's pretty articulate. I have to agree that ex-motorcycle racers (the ones that aren't full of pins!) make pretty good racers. They know how important it is to be smooth.
GRM has a (very long) Targa article sitting around. Let David know if you want to see it in print.
Yeah, I think that would be a good read. Maybe in the winter? I always think of rally when the weather turns cold.. 
Back when I was a corner worker, we used to call the bike racers the "Men of Steel" since they had so many pins, screws, and plates holding themselves together.
