Last one for a while.  I have some that aren't working so I'll show those as I get them operational.

1965 Timex Marlin.  You can really tell the quality differences between a Timex (this is a better 21 Jewel one) and the next level up of the vintage American manufacturers.  That said Timex does seem to have more style to them.  I guess they're the Mopar of the vintage watch world.  Still don't think I did bad at $13.99 plus the strap.  The green hands gave me an excuse for an olive drab strap without appearing to be a tactical bro.

Nice looking Timex Stampie.   Timex reintroduced the Marlin a few years ago and I keep looking at them.

I got one earlier this year in a nice blue color and I've really liked it.I posted a pic a few pages back. It's my first automatic.

Thanks for the feedback on the Marlin!  I've got two blue face watches now-Seiko 5 and Breitling Colt Chrono-and the green face or salmon/gold are interesting to me.  My Georgio Galli S1 Timex automatic has been perfect and gets regular comments/compliments.

"Mission to Earthphase" MoonSwatch, gave it to myself for XMas

I already have a white Moonphase "Snoopy" and a Mission to Mercury but the Earth Phase is a pretty unique complication.

That one is really really cool

Yeah, I have no reason to know the phase of the earth as viewed from the moon - but it would give me some private pleasure to know it.

Sometimes I think it'd be cool to have a planetarium watch that shows the orbits of the solar system. That way I'd know to summon the spirits when the planets align.

I'd been wanting a Mission to Mercury since they were released. My daughter checked the Swatch stores in New York a few times, but they were always sold out. She became a bit of an enthusiast because of the quest, so when the Mission to Earth became available online, I bought one for her, and she's been enjoying it ever since.

It's been fun getting her interested in watches.

Right around the same time (September), I saw an ad for this Swatch Blue Grid Chrono, that's essentially a Moonswatch in a metal case (without any mention of Omega) for about a hundred bucks less. I bought it for myself as kind of a trial run to see how I would like the proportions of a real Speedmaster.

It's pretty cool for a $200 chrono, but it's almost impossible for me to read the subdials or tachymeter without my glasses, which kind of makes a real Speedy not a great choice for me. So, for those reasons, this was a good buy, and probably saved me a lot of money.

But it's a fun watch and I do like it.

As I look back at my own photo, I realize how dumb it is to put fat hour and minute hands on a chrono.

They're almost guaranteed to block at least one of the subdials at any time.

The hands are thick, but at least you can read them. I have a few watches with really skinny hands....

Assembled 3 more mod watches this weekend from my watch "parts" stash. Luckily watch parts and pieces take up much less room than car stuff.

Speaking of watch parts stashes, I've had an ETA 2824-2 sitting in my watch box for maybe a decade. I've never modded a watch, but that surely would be a nice base for some kind of build.

In NYC piggybacking wife's business trip, the Grand Central Station has all but the mission to Neptune and Pluto in stock along with moon phase. Tempted to grab one but don't know if wanna spend that much and can't decide between the options either. Could be willing to grab one and ship one if anyone on here was dying for it.

Earthphase is the one to get IMO.
