So being a way from home has me wanting to check in on the place. I am looking at something like these. I hope someone here knows about these things because this tougher than picking what tires to buy next.

I think I want 4 cameras, 8 channel, and under 5 bills.

I'm in the same situation right now. Curious to see where this thread goes.

Yup, didn't take me long. 4 camera kit, everything needed except a monitor (Use a TV or a computer monitor) 499.00. View remotely via any web enabled cell phone. Nice set up. 2 year warranty. My first ever print ad will be in Sept. Classic Motorsports. Go to my website to see details. www.cctvonly.biz. Wifey (She's the Hot Granny in the Cobra) is still building the site, the kit is in the about us section. We are VERY happy with the treatment we have received from the GRM people.

Thanks. In fact, I just downloaded your ad yesterday and processed it into the CMS queue. Keith did good by you.

In reply to cwh: Are you still around? Can you tell me about hard drive size. Is 500 gig large enough? Also how do I compare the viewing interfaces as far as searching for an event. What 400TV quality enough? I want to cover my front porch, front yard, side driveway from two angles.

Yes, still around. 500gb is a standard HDD. You can upgrade to 2TB if desired. This unit has one sata slot, I have others with up to 10. I have to inquire about price difference. Probably order without the HDD, you pop in the 2TB big drive. Record times are completely dependent on frame rates, amount of motion detected, and desired recording quality. 2 weeks should be minimum with 500gb. The cameras are 420 lines, which is OK for most system, but most of what we sell to installing dealers is 540 to 700. Yes, that costs more. This camera package is a consumer grade set. If you want commercial grade, I will be happy to set you up, but 500.00 is not do-able. PM sent
