absolutely amateur night. I'm hoping the professionals stick it out for the evening of the first.

I'm running the karaoke program at our local Elks lodge (longtime member and PER, I do this every year for the lodge), playing Auld Lang Syne at midnight on the lodge steps on my alto sax while we watch fireworks echo off the Colorado mountains, then going home to bed and sleeping in tomorrow.
Today I work from 6am to 5pm, work at Oz Fest 6pm to 2am then back home for a few hours sleep then back to work at 9am.
Currently about 4 hours from home. Had a medical appointment for son #2. Gonna drive home, then no real plans. May stay up till midnight with son #1 but may not.

Oooof. That's going to be a rough one.
I might have been able to pull that off in my early twenties, but not anymore.
We will either go to our favorite karaoke bar (Capitol Bar here in Portland) or stay in and play Super Smash Bros on our new Switch. Hard decisions all around.
Swmbos daughter decided to try 4loko last night. I plan on being as loud as humanly possible. Like, Puerto ricans with fireworks loud.
SWMBO's autoimmune disease is causing problems again so it looks like I'll be ringing in the new year at the ER. :(
Edit:. 1 hour later, she did get some fluids and food into her system and claims to be feeling much better. She wants to wait and see how tomorrow is. So now I get to stay home & worry and not sleep. At least the chairs are more comfortable here...
Bouncing between videogames and trying to find ways to raise the funds I need to start a business this year.
Nothing much. I’ve been a bit out of sorts lately and haven’t made any plans so it’s probably gonna end up being stay in and watch some of it on tv. Maybe have a glass of the good bourbon.
My tradition is mainly, stay home! Holidays like this, major drinking ones, mean we stay home rather than chance a run in with any of the many many shiny happy types who dont make wise decisions and drive drunk.
Making surf n turf, sweet corn, baked cauliflower and salad for the Fam. Also will go to bed normal time, about 10.
Sit in the “Florida room” (usually a add on with lots of windows) and watch the neighbors money make colorful sparks in the sky.
Also turning all the mobile devices off so the drunk midnight and later texts dont wake me up. I quit drinking a little over 7 years ago.
Get up tomorrow and do some work in the garage. Should be good.
I'm not really into the New Years thing, it's just another day. Just hanging out at home with the wife and kids. Will probably be sound asleep by 10pm. Can't remember last time we stayed up for the ball drop.
Bed early. I always like getting up early New Year’s Day and going out for coffee. The world is quiet.
No alcohol party with friends from church. Bunco. Finishing order determines selection order for white elephant. Yeah, I’m old, but it’s a fun night and I’ll be in bed by 12:30.
7:14 pm ... Annie and I just arrived home from Bill's, our local pub, located less than a half mile from home. We had great fun with all our bar friends, whom we've known for years (think Cheers). Anyway, we're here at home for the duration of the evening. We do have more wine and a bottle of Champagne here. But I think we'll be drinking the bubbly stuff long long before midnight. Happy New Year everyone!

Ya'll be good. :)
An FHPmun! Easy picking for the drunks tonight. Hopefully not much for signal 7’s. Keep it safe!
do you get holiday pay on new years eve or new years day?
My standard operating procedure will apply, asleep in bed!
a_florida_man -- Be safe out there! And thank you for your service!
I almost avoided asking but I can't,
a_florida_man, are you that florida man?
You know the one we hear about on the news all the time? Like "Florida man worried about vampires burns down his house, police say" or "Florida Man Tries to Pay for McDonald’s Order With Marijuana"? (actual news stories...)
