I downloaded WinZip and now I've got this extra toolbar on my browser that I don't want. I've looked for a "remove" feature to no avail. Ideas?

what browser you using?... thats one thing I hate about so many free programs... if you aren't paying close attention you install stupid tool bars... and lots of times they also have spybots built in.

Try uninstalling is where you would uninstall other windows programs. If it isn't there you will need to tell us what browser you are using.

Usually in IE you can go to Tools->Internet Options->advanced and hit the reset to defaults button

Firefox -> options "disable 3rd party addons"

In IE it is as easy as right clicking on a blank section of the toolbar area and deselecting the offending toolbar from the list

Yeah, I found that, but there's no obvious link to the new toolbar in that selection of programs. Nothing marked "WinZip", anyway...

Uninstall Winzip and replace with 7zip.

No orange bar. Found Options under Tools but I've been through all the alternatives and nothing allows me to eliminate the toolbar.

at the top left corner of your screen, click on "view". .then "toolbars".. then uncheck the toolbars you don't want.

Control panel, classic view, programs and features, look through and find offending toolbar program, uninstall.

That is, if your running vista.

Had to do this on my mothers computer more times then I care to recount. (I try, but I swear she wont give up yahoo)

Not only does this make it stop showing it, but takes their crappy software off your computer.

Late to the party but I second 7zip. Only compressed file handler I use on Windows.

In reply to stroker: My browser is I.E.8. I tried disabling the toolbar, but it kept coming back. Did not want to restore the browser to the default and screw up everything else, so I thought I might be able to remove the program in Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs. I looked for a listing called Conduit but didn't find one. So I looked to see if it was listed under WinZip. I didn't want to remove the WinZip program, but I was happy to see that "WinZip Community Toolbar" was listed below the WinZip program. Once I removed it, the toolbar was gone from my browser.
