I'm trying to research a vehicle for a friend. The car has a salvage title and he ran a report on the title and came up with

I think someone can't drive....

With that many hits on it, I would run away as fast as I could and find something else. But to answer the question, I would figure you could use the case number and the GA DMV (start laughing now) to get the accident report....

Yeah, I'd run. But I'm looking for a buddy who's in Ghana. Over there an accident isn't as big a deal since cars are hard to come by. But at least this guy has the sense to want to know why it was totaled. I'll see if I can search the GA DMV.

I guess you would have to find the police report to see what the damage was. Either that or the owner at the time.

At least around here, police reports are available to the public, or rather, accident reports are. I used one not too long ago to track a wreck I saw and see if the car was what I thought it was- because I really wanted the engine.

Looks like GA doesn't consider accident reports to be public.

That sucks.

It's going to be tough to track. Even if you can get the police report, it may only have basic info. It'll probably have the name of the insurance company, but they're not going to give you much info due to privacy (not to mention since it was so long ago, they may have archived the file anyway).

Best way is to go look at it and know what to look for.

Ahh, I get it now. Sorry, sometimes I have a hard time getting my head in gear.
Dang, that was good too.

Don't feel bad, that was a pretty vague reference. He should have used something more like this:

Yes, because a blank image would have been so obvious.

Although you may see it, I couldn't and it made me LOL.

You'll need to log in to post.
