Okay, fair is fair.

The polls in some parts of America have been closed for 24 hours. Why haven't the Republicans fixed the economy yet?! How long are they going to keep blaming this on Obama?!

Quack, quack, quack. For 8 years we had to hear how Bush II was a retarded chimpanzee whose rich friends bought him the Presidency. Grow a pair and deal with the shoe being on the other foot for a while. I think Black Jesus should be man enough to take it.

Full disclosure: I've never voted for a Republican presidential candidate in my life.

Well at least it's common knowledge now

Against Bush = Whiny, anti-patriotic.

Support Obama = fascist, communist who hates capitalism

Against the "new" Repugs doing the same old thing = whiner

Why do you hate America? Why do you hate Freedom? You don't have to like the President, but you should have respect for the office.

Your point being? Other than that everybody left of center is a brilliant, gentle spirit bathed in the sweet light of enlightened care and gentle regard for all of our fellow human beings emanating from the nimbus surrounding our current President?

Of course, Republicans are by definition subhuman, so you're off the hook there - no need to act like they have thoughts or feelings.

PS - read my "full disclosure" line again.

WHAT? Please do explain what you're talking about, because I sure don't get it. I love freedom and America - that's why I don't like Republicans OR Democrats.

I'm just especially sick of hearing all the Democrats complain about how badly anti-Obama folks are treating their Messiah when they have spent the previous 8 years spewing forth complete anti-Bush vitriol that would get you punched if you ever said it to someone's face.

Duke- sorry man. Didn't mean to get you so worked up. It's all a little joke. We're actually making the same point in a lot of ways, but you're kind of helping me make it a way you don't mean to.

I got 'cha that it was bad to call Bush names. But the better answer might be not to call any President- or anyone at all- names. Rather than saying it's okay to call Obama names since some people called Bush names.

They still print Rolling Stone? Last copy I bought was the one with Kurt Cobain on the cover. Sad day, man. Sad day.

I read your "disclaimer", but you preceded it with a typical Repug whiner accusation. After you jumped on someone for calling Bush names, you follow it up with calling Obama "our messiah". Pot meet kettle.

It is going to take a long time to repair the damage that was done to the economy. Wether you blame the previous admin or not, I think the current admin needs a reasonable amount of time AND support to repair it.

8 years of spending, wars, and de-regulation of our financial system is going to take more then 20 months to fix. Everything that Obama has tried to pass has been watered down to ineffectiveness because of the "no" party. Kinda hard to blame a Obama for not fixing a problem that he wasn't ALLOWED to fix.

I just hope that now that the Right is in (partial) control, they can accept the blame when nothing still happens.

But I am sure we can all agree that almost all politicians are d-bags

What do mean the Republican's haven't fixed the economy yet? Ford just announced their sales were 19%, Chrysler's were up 37%, GM's sales were up 4% (13% if you don't include Pontiac and Saturn). Can you imagine how bad today's announcements would have been if the Democrats still had a supermajority (or whatever control of both the House and Senate is called)?

I mentioned the comment above of "the patience of 2 years to fix the previous 8 years" and my coworker went nuts on me bringing up the before previous 8 years of mess that was handed to the last 8 years......I imagine we can easily go back and blame Nixon or Hoover for all this.

I think the most interesting thing about all of this is that for the past 3 elections there has been a major turnover of power. None has been an OK for one party to lead, just an disapproval of the other.

The hyperbole is going to take awhile to settle. Maybe at some point we'll all stop pointing fingers and realize we aren't going to agree on everything. But right now we're all so wound up that if we have 80% agreement we focus on the 20% difference. I'm guilty as hell of that. Probably in a thread I just posted in. Thanks to Fast Eddie for making light. Duke's a good guy, humor is hard to impart over the web sometimes.

Cone Junky you do realize that Bush had a Dem Congress the last 2 years don't you? That means the Dems have had power for the past 4 years not 2. And if people hadn't watered down the Great and Glorious Obam's spending policies we'd all be in a bread line right now run by the Chinese.

Think of the Healthcare bill and the Banking reform act as M & M's. Healthcare and Reform were the sugar shells, but the majority of the bills were free spending, cronyism chocolate. Just after the Healthcare bill was passed some of the Dems said they didn't care if the Rebulicans got it repealed and the reason for that is that all the repeal will address is the candy shell, not the real chocolate of the matter.

You can download and read the bills for yourself. I don't remember the exact count but of 1200+ pages of Banking reform only about 250 pages were banking reform (candy shell)

And anyway I didn't think we talked politics on this forum?

I've been curious about this - did the bills the Democratic Congress pass have a lot more, I don't know, "stuff" in them than the bills the Republican Congress before them passed? I honestly don't know. I just assumed when I heard them yacking about "you haven't even read it" that it was more political finger pointing. Do any of them read any of the bills all the way through?

Hum. Have all the people opposed to the health care bill read it? How can you be opposed to it if you haven't even read it?
