From that diagram though it seems like I would end up with quite a bit more dropping directly in the driveway though possibly only on the one side?

Me as well, but man these things are EPICALLY terrible in 2wd. I'd rather drive the lowered Escort on crappy all seasons than this stuff than the Cherokee in 2wd mode.

4wd pulled off some pretty intense stuff last night, though. TACO BELL WAS IMPORTANT.

Had 28.5" up here yesterday. One year to the day after my shoulder surgery. I shoveled every last bit out of my driveway... well most of it. Have to go back out in a while and re-do what the winds have done overnight. My shoulder feels pretty good. Three cheers for the best healthcare in the world, in Costa Rica.

Snow is bad, and is evil on it's own right.

But having an evacuation when it's in the teens outside is not all that enjoyable, either. Especially when you are dressed for office work, and a 30 second walk outdoors.

I can almost feel my feet again. Ouch.

The only "hill" I've seen in Florida is bridge over water. I'm pretty sure the highest point in the whole state is the top floor of a hotel.

I've driven by the highest point in Fla. I think its up near the Ala state line.

I have found out that steel shovels are not the way to go. The snow just sticks to it.

Down here in HotLanta, it isn't - hot that is........ Daytime high temps have edged above freezing on one of the last three days. Today is no different with projected highs still in the low 30's. Ugggh! And the over night lows are threatening to break records that are in the very low teens. That may seem tame to those who live in more northern climes, but it is unusual and uncomfortable for most residents around here. We're looking at temps in upper 50's and low 60's by early next week.

At least the roads are finally clearing, but there are areas covered in black ice. The morons still haven't figured that stuff out....

One thing that a lot of our Northern friend don't realize is that a lot of Southern houses have no, or inadequate, heat. We are not well equipped for long cold snaps. Lot's of little space heaters, some of which cause house fires. We have two nice ones here to take the chill off when temps inside get into the 40's. I imagine that ATL has a lot of older, unheated, houses.

It has been POURING rain here today so we are getting quite a bit of melt, drains are clogged with snow so there is quite a bit of standing water on the roads. I have a three day weekend coming up I think I will try and get some of that snow fencing and put it up before there is another snow storm.

On the subject of an XJ we are looking for one for the girl friend...and it might end up with a Cummins diesel swap (she is all for this idea).

Quick PSA for the ATL folks:

When you do get out, please act like a non-lazy berkeley who's got some damned sense for the 5 minutes it takes to remove the mattress-sized sheet of ice/snow on your vehicle's roof!

My Hakkapalittas have had a decent workout recently. Yesterday's storm was about a foot.

Everybody whining about snow. Well, I was very concerned last week that my citrus trees would get some frost burn. They are fine, however, and they are sagging with fruit. Phew!!!
