Gasoline is highly flammable.

Nope.  You can extinguish a match in gasoline.  Its gasoline vapor that's flammable.

You know, if we're being pedantic

If the goal is being pedantic, gasoline is no different than any other flammable or combustible liquid.

By definition, Flammable and combustible liquids will generate vapours when exposed to a temperature at, or above, its flash point, which can easily ignite when exposed to an ignition source.

The only difference between gasoline and diesel (and other flammable and combustible liquids) is the flash point. Diesel gives off vapors which will ignite between 120*F and 180*F. Gasoline will do it at negative -49*F. If you want to avoid vapors, all you have to do is store gasoline at a temperature lower than -49* F.

All combustible and flammable liquids will extinguish a match in liquid form.

You know, if we are being pedantic.

Been using the VP Racing jugs here for years. I only really need gasoline around the house for my riding mower, generator, and pressure washer. Everything else is electric. So I'm not taking it to race tracks or anything. The only issue I've ever had was that the attendant at the Costco gas station wouldn't let me fill them up because they weren't red (I get the clear ones so I can see how much is left). Nobody else seems to care, so I just fill them at other stations.
