...pairs of vice-grip pliers.
I'm in the middle of a big toolbox clean-out. A 30+ year accumulated mish-mash of good and bad, I'm purging the cheap screwdrivers, crude little Honda motorcycle pliers, and any sign of crappy mismatched pot-metal sockets.
Turns out that I have (at least) 14 pairs of vice-grips, who knows - more may turn up!
I am debating the foam liner for my 3/8 socket drawer, but it is expensive and looks like a pain to cut all of the holes. Anyone tried it and liked it?
You must be on the other end of the vice-grip portal! Send some of those back over here please!
You can take the extra ones & weld flanges / rods / tips on the jaws. Make a bead roller for turbo piping, flanger (for butt welds), etc
Thats usually what I do once the teeth are worn out.

I've been told by a reliable source that a set of the tee-nine-sy vise grips will be in my stocking Friday morning.
I really like those.

Just be sure to remove the tension spring before putting on the heat. I killed the temper on a couple before I figured that out.
How old are they? Since manufacturing of Vise Grips went overseas, the old ones that were built in Nebraska by Peterson Manufacturing are in high demand.
So....you have my missing vice grips... the mini set...yeah...

Since you're obviously on the other end of the missing tool portal, you got any of my 10mm sockets? I'm missing like......300 of them.

yes, it is a pain in the butt, but if you label them it's GREAT! You can see if there is a missing tool in a glance. Inventory your whole box in one minute.
I have a 3 drawer toolbox that lives permanently on the bench that is for pliers only. The lid is open and the vice grips are clamped to the lip of the lid.
Most of my vice grip collection is due to the crap cars I buy often have them instead of window lift knobs, door handles and often steering wheels.
13 at last count!

I had to stop keeping handtools in my rollcab and top chest.
Only specialty tools and power tools live in there now.
Handtools all go on pegboard and socket trays. If they're in a drawer and the drawer is disorganised, I shut the drawer and the problem is solved.
When they're out in the open and I have to look at disorganisation or missing tools it makes me fix the problem.
BTW, you can NEVER have enough vise grips.
