I'm in Virginia visiting friends. Like usual I booked through Priceline since I'm cheap and will stay anywhere. I'm in this place called Aloft. It's far cooler than I am. Very modern decor, a bar as you walk in, and a large man named Lars downstairs who will bring us "anything we may need". Oh, and a floor to ceiling windoiw so I can sit on the couch and look into the shower.

Nice I may have it check it out later
We traded places Wally! what city?
Try living here. It doesn't get better with age!
I've done the automatic doors at a couple of the Aloft Hotels. Talk about super modern. Too much stainless, aluminum and fru fru colors for me. I think it would be like staying in a hospital. Give me dark stained woods and leather.
for a second I though you meant you didn't belong HERE(GRM)
P.S. where in VA, I'm flying to Virginia Beach tomarrow.

aaaggghhhh! Get that image out of my head!
Swanky looking ! (Do you mind if I ask what the priceline rate was ?? )
Go to the bar and see if they have those wasabi nuts. They're awesome.
I know how you feel. We are in Nashville right now, staying at the Hutton Hotel. It also has the glass shower window thing.
It's far too nice for an Okie like myself.
In reply to Chebbie_SB:
$50a night for 4 nights. We're in Chesapeake. Sadly there are no pics of me on the treadmill but we did spend some time in the pool.

Beats the living daylights out of a no-tell motel !
(When I looked at the linked site, I read it as "Cheapskate" instead of Chesapeake...)
You didn't by any chance go to the Smithsonian to ogle the Tucker (not sure of the dates...)
