And it was the funniest thing that's ever happened to me at work.
The phone rings and the guy asks me for a water pump gasket for a 1996 Toyota 4Runner, 2.7 liter engine.
I find it in the computer, tell him the price and that I have to order it, and he asks me if I have a picture. Then I see this.
He asks me to describe it. I giggle. Then he asks "what is the overall shape?"
At that point I knew it was a joke, and I freaking lost it. I did all I could to maintain my composure in case this wasn't a joke, but I couldn't.
It's affectionately now known as the penis gasket.

Wow, that's a long way to go for a dick joke (no pun).
As annoying/stupid as prank calls are, props to the caller for being so well-researched.
That's a good one.
On a related note, I tried this trick on the website of a box-store parts house.. and got the same pic, plus another listing with the pic just turned 180 degrees.
My parts guy is gonna hate me on Monday morning
Did you call him a prick?
LOL, I had that picture on my screen when I signed back into my computer.
Yup, I'm gonna do that today.
Should be someone's Avatar.
It makes it 100% better that its for a water pump.

If it leaks, would you call that discharge?

I believe so. If its still under warranty, I believe it would be a premature discharge.

If the seal hardens up for more than 4 hours, you're suppose to call your mechanic.
They usually only start leaking when they get on in age, I hear it can be a real PITA to fix
I hear they have a tenancy to let loose all over the place when they blow.
If the cars over 50, there could be swelling that will make it hard to pass water through there. The mechanic will have to reach up the exhaust to see if theres a problem.
you guys are killing me here!!!
