I'm not touting him as a hero, but Marvin Heemeyer fought back. And did it (more or less) without injuring anyone but himself (physically, anyway).
RIP, Marvin. You get half a salute from me, ya crazy bastid.

I’m looking forward to seeing the documentary on him. I can’t say I agree with his method but having been on the wrong side of the government a few times I can understand.

Wait... I've read about this before, but never caught one major detail. He sold his land to a concrete company, for the express purpose of it being a concrete batch plant, making a $200k profit in the process. Then when the city approved the zoning for the batch plant he went ballistic and started leveling buildings? As amazing as the killdozer was, the guy was a complete nut and I wish he'd just taken himself out and not bothered anyone else with his bs first.

No, he DIDN’T sell his property to them. He was supposed to, but decided he wanted more than $200,000 for it. They declined to buy it at his new price so they went about bribing / convincing / intimidating the Town into rezoning the land directly in front of his so they could build the concrete plant there, which ruined his business.

Oh, okay, the Wikipedia article was very poorly written. Still sounds like he was a shifty jerk but at least it makes more sense as to why he went off the deep end!
