My wife backed out of the driveway and managed to hyper-extend the passenger-side mirror on the FiST. (don't ask) She took it to her garage and they kinda made it a little better, but not really. So I took it to my dealer and asked them to fix it right with OEM Ford Parts. I was out of town when she picked it up, and when I get back, I notice that the mirror is unchanged, the interior door panel is not on right and the window only goes half way down now. $300.
They told her "it still doesn't fit flush" Wait, you let it go out the door looking wrong, not working and admitting that you didn't fix the problem you were asked to fix? This is why I do things myself, you just can't find a dealership worth a crap. They are all scam artists and morons. I already drive 30 -45 minutes away to try to find a decent Ford dealer, am I going to have to go even further? Are any brands better than others? (my Kia dealer has been great at service, if they only made a good autocross car...)
You overpaid. I break my E36 M3 all the time for free. The only thing better than that is working at Ford and getting paid to break other people's E36 M3.

Call the dealer, speak with the service mgr and make an appointment to visit with him personally. Don't forget to drive the FiST that day.
Don't get mad until/if they completely fail in fixing a problem they worsened. Then, get even...
Hey, at least they didn't put your transmission drain plug in finger tight.
But Kia DOES make a good auto-x car.

Or strip your oil drain plug at the first oil change. Seriously, why are there so many people at dealerships with terrible skills and no attention to detail?
Your stealership has to be better than Hennessy Honda Of Woodstock. They suck.

Did they remind you how important it is to give them 10's on the survey?

Thing is, this breaking of car can be equally blamed on Kia as it can be on Ford.
Which is to point out that it was the dealer. Who isn't Ford.
My Ford dealer is great. The few times I have been there the service was excellent. Browns Ford, Johnstown, NY
Correction: Your wife did. She accepted the car after the "repair" instead of refusing to accept it and having them fix it properly after talking with the GM and Service Writer.
Not to say the dealer didn't drop the ball, they certainly did and it should never have gone back to the customer like that. The tech new it was wrong and shipped it anyway, whether that was by their choice or being forced to by management, the fact that she accepted it won't help your cause.

I'm only referring to his statment that Kia doesn't make a good auto-x car.

Dealerships want to hire kids right out of tech school. Could be a genius on exams, but no experience means a lot of broken parts on the way to competency.

And all I was using was your Kia reference. So we are good.
It was probably in retaliation because she didn't take them up on the recommended gold plated factory replacement air filter.

Because dealerships attract people who only care about making money for themselves and not doing a decent job.

I understand this sentiment, but they were still paid to do a job. What if this was not a visible part that needed repair or replacement?
I'm not saying I completely disagree with you, but the standard of that dealership or any service center should not be to try to pull one over on anyone unless they catch it on the way out the door and demand it to be fixed the right way.
Please tell me that you said Screw Ford and bought this today out of spite, and that I can drive it at an NHSCC event.

I'd rather be poor than sell that for $37k.
UPDATE: Took the FiST back in with my angry face on, and they fixed the mirror and the window for no charge, I still had to fix the interior trim. No apologies, no extra effort to make me happy about their screw up.
The dealership next to my office DOES have a 2003 Corvette Z06 out front for $19k that makes me think I need to move to a big-boy toy. If it only sat 3.
In reply to pinchvalve:
Yeah, I'd contact their GM and Ford Customer Service about that.
Some folks need reminding who they actually work for and if they can't handle that, perhaps a job somewhere else is needed?
Funny. Capital One keeps sending me these pre-approval for certain local dealerships. Currently a Ford/Mazda offering. Someone on here piqued my interest a few days ago by claiming to have seen sub $10k Fiestas but then this thread turned up and reminded me how little I trusted Ford U.K. and Fiestas.

Maybe they do, but I find it unlikely. They make a pretty terrible car.

Because many dealership general managers came up through the sales dept. Even if their hearts were in the right place when they started their careers, the have had 15 to 20 years of living in a culture tha rewards "Making your numbers no matter what."
