Smoking, that is. Bout an hour ago- so... 8:57 CST, I decided I was done. No real reason for it. I'll admit, I enjoyed doing it. I think the biggest reason I had continued, was quite simply it gave me 3-5min to myself, with no one harassing me. Now that the mini-me has figured out how to open the deck door- I am out of options. Wife has no clue any of this is going on. I think i'm going to play it quiet and see how long it takes her to notice. In the meantime, if i'm a larger shiny happy person than usual- it's not the nic fits (I quit before with 0 issue, I imagine this time will be no different) it's quite simply, I'm out of E36 M3 to do with my hands. I have problems when I'm not using my hands. See my gaming habits. I'd garage it, but 2 year old+single income+apt= I ain't got time or space to tear apart anything major.

Way to go. I wish my sister would quit, too

how are you going to scam a 15 minute break every hour at work?

second hand smoke break?
as a non smoker I've had jobs that I did this on... was usually chatting with the manager on my non smoke break so no one of importance cared lol...
to the OP... good on you and good luck... I know my aunt said the final time she quit (had been smoking for over 1/2 a century at this point) that every time before she always wanted another smoke... the final time it was different... she said she just didn't want a smoke... think that lasted 10+ years before she passed

My buddy and I take a walk around the plant in the morning and afternoon.
I've mentioned at every job to management that if smokers are going to take 1+ hour a day in paid breaks, I'm going to at least take a couple short ones myself.
Almost 12 hours in. Hows it goin?
As far as the idle hands driving you crazy part, Im kinda the same way. I sit at a desk and type all day. Sometimes stress or monotony get to me, and I have to ...I NEED to do something constructive. I have one of these at my desk:
Its a little wood puzzle. Its not terrible hard to do, I have it memorized now. IT takes about 5 minutes to take apart and put back together. Its kind of a mental enema. It allows me to shift focus from whatever is frustrating me, and accomplish a goal by building something with my hands. Its a nice "little win" during the day,

yes, I hate that about the smokers too. I can bust my hump for 4 hours until lunch, but they get to go outside once an hour because they "need a smoke"
Good for giving it up!
I tried heading out side for a soda break every once in a while, having a 50 cent pop machine helped. Didn't go over to well with the management. Machine's gone now

My grandpa quit smoking and kept a little container full of toothpicks in his pocket to chew on to replace the cigs.

Good luck, man. More power to you!
When dad finally quit for good, he bought giant bags of starlight mints, and had one every time he wanted a cig. Not many calories, and gave him that little fuss-time. When he smoked, I remember him waking up and coughing for 5 minutes before he could get out of bed. With that crap out of his lungs, it didn't take long for that to go away once he was off the smokes.
go man go! or in this case, quit man quit!

12 hours in. Don't really "crave" persay- I'm weird like that. However, it was a MOTHER not autopiloting out to the balcony for a morning smoke break. Good thing i'm out and I don't want to go to the store. That's generally the hardest part- retraining my habits. And as far as the work thing goes- no real job lol.... so IDK what that 15min woulda bought otherwise.

Actively find things to replace the habitual ones. Instead of going to the balcony; find something new to do/occupy your time.

Yeah.... that's the hard part. Working on it. Might be time to get out the colored pencils.
...and just think of the cash you're saving!

Unfortuantely, due to some fairly serious joint issues- I am somewhat limited as to what I can do, but we're already walking a ton because two year old.
keep going! We want to see you succeed!
