OK, we all know that protools is used to give fake pitch correction. Japan took this to a new level with fake pop stars. Now we're doing it too. I just can't fathom paying concert money to go see a hologram.
[feel free to ignore my opinion, though....it has been a few years since I went to see live music anyway.]

The Gorillaz don't actually exist as a real band.

Its a concert with a hologram and Dr Dre and Snoop Dog in the works not just the hologram. Though I would pay some pretty serious money to see exact replicates of concerts where a band member or two is dead and replaced with the computer.

Would a holographic Keith Moon have to be replaced halfway through a show by a holographic Scott Halpin?
Yeah, I knew about Gorillaz. I knew that Snoop and Dre were talking about touring with the hologram. The entire thing is just....odd. Did you guys look at the first link? It is a youtube video of a stadium of people cheering at the "arrival" of their favorite hologram to "sing" for them.
It just seems really strange to me. Humph. Get off my lawn.
Gorillaz did a live show too...cheering crowd and everything.

On the way to the track a few weeks ago with my 10 year old:
Son: Dad, will you put in on the '40's station?
Me: What? The '40's station? Are you sure?
Son: Yeah, I really like that station, now.
Me: WHY? (thinking he's trying to just be goofy)
Son: Because they could really sing back then. Not like the stupid computer fixed voices nowdays.
I damn near wrecked the car I was so shocked......
Needless to say, we listened to the '40's the whole way there and back.

Dethklok's not real either. Just a nerdy dude and a constantly changing assortment of bandmates
this thread makes me lol I think it's hilarious
I'd love to see Drowning Pool with Dave again or A7x with the Rev back or Alice in Chains with Layne, maybe it's just me but I think it's berkeleying awesome and hilarious at the same time

I like your son! I have to admit that I have a tendency to dial in the 40's station on satellite radio too.
I also recently discovered that country singers can still sing and play instruments, and they also tell stories. So there's been a lot of twang in the garage of late.
Prozzak was another "fake" band, for the Canadians in the audience.

Thanks, eh...
It's bad enough they know about Celine Dion.

I already knew about Prozzak, actually.
I'm a little ashamed to admit that.
Sucks to be you...
I know i knowwwwww
Is it so bad that I like Hatsune Miku?
Weird. Sounds like Sharon Apple from Macross Plus.
rude jude from shade45 on "tupac-puppet": "its berkeleying creepy!"
I listen to the 50s station probably 60% of my morning commutes now. much better music. And they play a lot of Dion. Dion made good music.

Yes, that is the perfect Country and Western song ever written.
Country singers can still sing and play, but you really need to get out of mainstream country. It sucks.

Yup, we call them bluegrass musicians

My sister went to a Prozzak concert when she was 12 or 14 lol.
But really, for a 12 year old, it was the equivalent of techno beatz back then. I still have my Prozzak cd somewhere...
