Oh, I know. A lot of my friends have been married and divorced and some are married again in the period my wife and I have been married. Each time I hear of the problems others have, I think to myself "Thank God I found a good one". However, it wasn't all luck. My parents had a terrible marriage and I learned everything I could from that and was determined to not make the same mistakes. I was 35 when I met my wife and she is my first wife and the first woman I said "I love you" to. Frankly, she is out of my league and wouldn't have given me a second look except that all the other guys I was competing with had issues, ex-wives, kids, etc and she wasn't interested in any of that. She had no baggage and was looking for someone who also had no baggage. The dating pool definitely shrinks as you get older but I kept telling myself that if it's harder for me to find a good girl, then it's also harder for them to find a good guy and that my stock value was going up. I'm blessed, not lucky.
