Well, my Certified Brewmaster Course has come to a close. It has been quite a ride and I've gotten the opportunity to meet some wonderful folks. Saying farewell to all of them was very hard.
I've learned a lot. I'm torn by the relief of 6 months of super-intensive study finally being over, and the sadness of the experience being over and everyone leaving. I am going to miss everyone and miss Berlin, but I'm also very excited to go back to the United States and be with friends, family, and my girlfriend again.
I've got more details on it on my blog: http://brewercameron.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/ich-bin-ein-braumeister/
Along with a writeup on our final trip to Bavaria (which was four days long, and thus four pages): http://brewercameron.wordpress.com/2012/06/27/bavaria-excursion-day-1/
I salute you good sir for learning and perfecting an actual craft as your vocation. I wish you all the best in your future brews.
Congratulations. Now on to the job search? Hopefully your certification will make the search easier.

Next comes a 3-month internship at Schell's. I suppose I'll be job searching during that time. However between a certification and connections from working at Schell's, that shouldn't be too tough.
Well done. Now go forth and make great beer.

And to give you all something to enjoy, here is me with the Hallertau Hop Queen.
Nicely done - Congrats!!! So, had any "revolutionary" ideas that will make what you do from here out "unique"?
That looks like an excellent Hop.

Yes. Have had some since before I came to brewmaster school. I've had a few new ones since coming here. I'm keeping most of them under my hat until I can start my own brewery so that they stay unique.
One I will sort-of give away I mentioned in my Day 4 post. My excursion to the Hallertau may have gotten me the hookup on new, experimental hop varieties coming out of Germany's premiere hop breeding program. I've already got several ideas on how to use the hops they showed us, and they're excited to see what I can do with their new varieties.
Congratulations Desmond from LOST!!
Blessed be the mother who gives birth to a brewer!
...though I can't believe that you didn't get a haircut for the ceremony.
LIVIN THE DREAM!!! Congrats dude! "I knew him when...." That job here in BFE is still open - I'm going there tonight as they just tapped a keg of Ten Fidy (or "Ten W-30" as my wife calls it.) NOM NOM NOM. Also, I think Left Hand was hiring last time I was on their site, but don't remember what the position was. Congrats again. Very cool.
PS: You should really have that certificate and photo professionally framed. I know a guy

No can do. As a craft brewer, I am required to have some combination of being tattooed, pierced, fat, bearded, or sporting unusual hair.
In reply to Beer Baron:
A) noticed the name change. B) as a craft brewer, you should be embarrassed by that scraggly little beard of yours.
In any case, congrats.

Had a full beard when I first came out to Germany. I got tired of beer foam in my mustache, and it didn't look so hot anyway. My visa picture looks like the mugshot for an IRA bomber.
In reply to Beer Baron:
I, too, am about to go from mustache & goatee to chin only. First time my upper lip will be hairless since Oct 2003.
Well done! I hope you find a job quickly, find your career rewarding and retire happy.
Excellent. The GRM plan for global domination continues..control the beer, and you control the civilized world.
Seriously, though..congrats! I know you've been working for this for a long time.
Congrats brother. I can just see it now at the Challenges, "Here we have a bribe from Beer Baron... A custom GRM Brew... chug... OK, He wins."
Seriously though, it'll be awesome for you to get into the "Crowd" and start your own brewery. Be sure to get your stuff available in Texas though.

Schell's makes some quite enjoyable and quite affordable beers. They were unknown to me before moving to MN. If I end up in that part of the state while you're there I'll drop you a line and buy you a beer.
congratulations.. now hop to it!

She's smiling! I thought the Hop Queen was chosen by her bitterness qualities?
