I just went and looked at it too - boring, relentlessly tired arguments abound... but nothing offensive or even directly impolite. I wonder if this sort of locking behavior only happens every 30 days or so ...runs away...

And now I need a new keyboard!

Someone might have earned a Chuck Norris for that.

You're right. I'm hands off, because my working ovaries disqualify me from moderating what is clearly an august group of great thinkers. Thread's unlocked, fill it full of your drivel. Fill them all. I'm sure the forum will be better for it.

I hope to meet you in person sometime.

Aww, jeez ... the RI town I live in is Coventry.

I actually quit going to other forums for anything other than extremely specific info because of the general high brow (so to speak) nature of this forum. Thanks for the general lack of flaming here gang. Keep up the good work Marjorie!

Lol-the #1 "Top Rated" post is about Man/Dolphin love. You guys might want to remove that if you don't want to offend outsiders.

What does that even mean?

It means "Don't be a Richard Cranium." Seriously, does everything need to be spelled out explicity? 97% of the people in this forum know what it means. And the 3% who don't know what it means are usually among those screaming loudest that bureaucrats and school administrators are morons, every time there's a "zero tolerance policy" incident in the news.

You normally have some value as an agent provocateur around this place. That was crass and imbecilic - far beneath you. Pull up your socks.

I'm thinking it's a good thing it's Friday and this place is pretty quiet on the weekends.

I'm good with a ranking system.

A white knight appears from the deep fogs of the forum.

Its just silly. I think you are being a prick right now, maybe you should be banned? I thought GPS post was light hearted. First rule is to be able to laugh at yourself. Its clear he wasn't being serious, do you need someone to explicitly explain to you why his post wasn't crass and imbecilic?

Hey now, I was involved with that. I laugh my behind off every time I check the top rated list.....

I glanced through that "clock" thread.....but the Exxon thread made my head hurt. It was one of those polarizing topics that was indeed specifically warned against(most should know my viewpoint there, no need to post it again)

I'm no white knight. I just like this place and would rather it NOT require a long list of excessively specific rules that all boil down to "Don't be a dickhead" anyway.

This gets my vote. It's your board, so if you don't like someone just ban them. You could do temporary bans at first and if the behavior returns, then go for the perma ban.

Maybe a 3 strike system, strike 1 = week ban, strike 2 = month, strike 3 you're out forever?

I like the down-vote system. Be a shiny happy person, get down-voted by your peers. Monthly looser gets a 3 strike warning like described above.

The down vote systems seems simple and rids Margie, or any mods, from having to police us.

Yeah, I like it. It's a little "Lord of the Flies," and I have no doubt that it has potential to be abused by disgruntled fellow members, but this way it removes the possibility that an impartial mod might get her period and go all nuts.

Peace out, this is my good bye to most of the board, and my good riddance to choice special snowflakes. And HTFU snowflakes, to use your own preferred terminology/attitude. No one ever promised you fairness.
