Hey guys,
I found an old picture from 1982 of my brother and I in front of a Volkswagen beetle, and another mystery car with GT on the fender. It appears some sort of import to me, or maybe a captive import with an American brand name like a Mitsu/Plymouth/Dodge thing. Also I could be totally off on this guess. My bet is you guys can tell me in an instant, and also probably identify the year of the beetle in the background. So have at it. Oh yeah I'm the one on the right with the sweet hair cut, and also before I learned I loved food.
Datsun 210?
Edit: Similar, but I don't think that's it - no side marker or RF fender antenna.

I wasn't that specific, but yeah, I concur.
I'm pretty sure the badge is from an MG and doesn't belong on that car.
In reply to Duke:
I'm not sure, I think it's newer? The 77 Plymouth Arrow has similar lines, but again no fender-mounted antenna.
I'm having trouble proving it. The badges don't concur.
In reply to JohnRW1621:
Look an an MG-B-GT badge and tell me I'm wrong, but I think it's a transplant.

Do you really think it's that old? I ask because by 82 any import in New England owned by any of my family would be nothing but a pile of rust. This thing still has the bottom of the fenders for crying out loud! I'm thinking it's newer than 73.

Opel?
That little silver badge under the 'GT' or is it a 'DT' badge?
Come on Chris, I'm right around the corner. Its a 75 Austin Marina. Go to Google images. Theres a nice red one thats either on or was on Bring a trailer. And the GT was stolen from a MGB because Austin and MG were the same company in 75. That silver square is a BL British Leyland badge. The early TR7s had them as well.

Now that you mention that Todd, my grandfather had a Marina. That is it. I had forgotten about that car. Excellent job Todd.

I agree. I was about to post that. My father had three of them as company cars in the 70's. One saved his life when he was forced off a 50 foot embankment by anow articulated lorry (semi for the colonials ) although he spent several weeks in hospital.
What a coincidence. I dated a very articulated Lauri in high school. There was nothing semi about her. Especially that night after the prom.

I see what you did there.....

And if anyone needs help with Marina parts, our friend Skip can help.
I didn't recognize it at first.

Clearly the piano could have been seen with a broader shot. That would have been a dead giveaway though.
