So last night my girlfriend and I started playing a little game trying to figure out; if a car were a dog breed, what would it be? And vice versa: if a dog breed were a car, what would it be? So far, here's what we've come up with.
Miata = Jack Russel
RX-8 = Whippet
Prius = Labradoodle
Border Collie = Toyota Hilux
Greyhound = Nissan GTR (really fast, but way too prone to breaking itself, and expensive to fix)
Hummer = Great Dane
M3 = German Shepherd
Labrador = Camry/Accord
Smart Car = Chihuahua
Husky = Evo
Jeep Wrangler = Norwegian Puffin Dog
Muscle cars = Bully breeds ...
Corvette = Pitbull
Mustang = Staffordshire Bull Terrior
Challenger = English Bulldog
I'm sure we can come up with more.
I disagree with a few
Prius - Peekapoo
Evo - min pin
STi - Husky
F150 = Golden Retriever
Range Rover=Standard Poodle
You've attached high-energy, high-maintenance dogs to low maintenance cars.

I wasn't sure whether to make the Evo or STi a Husky. Not sure what angle you're taking with the Evo being a min pin.
All the others I like.
Original Mini Cooper - Boston Terrier
E24 M6 - German Shepard
E30 M3 - German Shorthaired Pointer
Wienermobile - Daschund
I'll figure more out later

I'd considered maybe the Border Collie would be the M3 (probably the E36), and the Shepherd a 911.
I know, Hilux = Newfoundland.

High reving high maintenance EVO = Min Pin
Rugged, fast, eager STi=Husky
VW Thing = beagle (smallish, created for utilitarian purposes, but now typically owned just for fun)
In reply to Salanis:
First tell us what you and your girlfriend were drinking so I can go get some and then I'll get in on this.
If cars were dogs, they would reproduce and I already have too many.
Oh, and all of my cars would be mutts.
Roadmaster: Big lazy fat mutt.
Tow beast E150: Big lazy mutt, but has some muscles hiding under the fat.
RX-7: Small mutt with heart worms. (it has a blown engine)
The wife's van: Medium size mutt with a bit of an attitude and always seems to get dirty.
The Abomination: Itty bitty little mutt that thinks it's a Great Dane, and will bight your head off if you mishandle it at all.

1.5x strength margaritas, then homebrew: lightly sour Flanders Old Brown, then my 9% Belgian Strong Dark. And we couldn't sleep because it was too frickin' hot. Oddly enough, she started it, not me.
In reply to Salanis:
Yep, that'll do it all right.

Honda S2000 - Greyhound: perfectly content to lope around at half speed most of the time, but when you let it run hard, HOLY SH...

Also, M5 = Doberman (duh).
I don't think of Corvette I don't think of Pit bull.
Viper= Pit bull
Corvette= Boxer
My Jeep Cherokee would be a husky. Both are medium sized for their breed and good in the snow.
I actually named one of my huskies Cherokee.

I have one Border Collie and four Huskies. Sometimes even more if I have foster dogs from the rescue group.
The Border Collie comes when he is called, does what I tell him and is very reliable. The huskies ignore voice commands, cannot be trusted off leash and are always trying to get over or under the fence. The Border Collie would be a very reliable and very agile Japanese car. An S2000 or an NSX. The huskies would be like a Range Rover or a Land Rover Discovery. An unreliable mess that would still be fun and could get into places most dogs wouldn't go.
An Alaskan Malamute would be either a full sized Toyota Land Cruiser or a Hummer.
My husky would come when called, obeyed to the point no leash was needed in most situations, and was fiercely loyal,
That is why I put the Husky with the STi
our huskies would come when called.. but would also try to escape constantly and when escaped.. would run to chicago (We live in South Jersey)
