If you remove the smog equipment from a 1968 Datsun 1600, do you need to change the distributor plate?
Sorry, wrong place, I thought this was a car group. My bad.

It's as if this were the "off topic" section of the forum or something...

Sooo, you want to be a senator representing a state you think is a jacka$$.
Have you come up with your campaign slogan yet
That's how you change things.
In reply to Steve_Jones :
If it's the dual point distributor, you can either adjust them to have one break contact and the other close contact, or eliminate one set of points. There is a bit of rewiring, too.
Don't ask specifics, because I haven't done one for about 40 years.

I think I'm fairly representative of the voter base and I shut down the moment I hear polarizing rhetoric such as calling someone a jacka$$. I see the art of diplomacy as having an analog to skillful fishing...you want to gently draw the fish "voters" into your boat rather than jerking your rod "calling someone a jackass" which reliably results in snapping your line.
I'm not saying that GIRTHQUAKE's views are wrong, I'm just saying that I think his prognosis for success is low. I, we, the voters are exhausted with the incessant divisiveness and we're starving for an authentic Gentleman or Gentlewoman to lead. We've got plenty of circus barkers...want to win an election, don't be a circus barker.
