If I had to narrow it down to one car it would be one that through a suspension change would be able to rallyx and autox...

subaru golf srt-4 any of those..

With MPG in mind. I'll stick to my civic hatches thanks.

I kinda have it with the Z3. Maybe if it was Estoril Blue and made in 2002 and an M.

I've always wanted a Viper RT-10 though. One of the first years with the 3-spoke claw wheels. I don't care what color it is, as long as it's red. :nice: Does anyone here have any experience with these?

Or that yellow AMX/3! Holy smokes!

Recent 911 Turbo, unless my wife is listening, in which case I'll take a recent M5 Wagon.

Lotus 7 clone, likely a Caterham SV with as many lightweight replacement bits as possible. That, or a TDI Synchro Westie. Store the motorcycle in the back, camp in it, fuel it with WVO.

This has got to be the first thread to ever reach 2 pages without "Miata" being mentioned.

God that AMX/3 is sexy.

One car? I think I would rather shoot myself in the foot.

No matter the coast, so it doesn't matter that I live out west?

All kidding aside, if I could only have one car, that car would have to do it all fairly well, be reliable, and be fun to drive.

When I was younger and had only one RWD Corolla, with only a change of tires, I would autocross one weekend, rallycross the next, trackday the third, and take two friends and three bikes mountain biking on the fourth. It is slow but massively entertaining to drive, fairly reliable, fairly comfortable, economical, and can carry people in the back seat in a pinch. So I might have to stick to a boring old AE86.

To increase both the utility and the sleeper factor, a TE72 wagon shell needs only a few small mods to accept all the mechanical bits from the AE86 GT-S, and doesn't weigh all that much more.

Miata? Oh wait, this is the off topic forum...answer doesn't apply

One car and one car only? Primer black turbo E30 318i. 300ish whp, LSD, coil-overs that can be raised in the winter and lowered in summer. It's RWD, spacious enough for four people, good on gas when it's not in boost (only 4 cylinders), has a trunk and space for crap, is reliable as dirt, plentiful junkyard parts, and looks damn good. And it's primer, so if it gets a scratch, you can sand it down and repaint it.

I'm really feeling the itch to get one of those new re-pop bodies and a lengthened FFR GTM chassis and the AMC 401 in my garage and just going to town...

less grassroots than the countach? and i think countach is my answer...no wait, '64 GTO 'vert...no, um( if I can go out on a REAL long limb here) an SRT-8 challenger with a real 6-spd and 750-1000lbs lighter

The lighter Challenger is easy, buy a 70-74 Challenger, swap in the "new" Hemi, and a Tremec T56, and voila! A ~1,300Lb lighter new Challenger! It'd probably be cheaper too
