Not FIA certified of course, but thin, lightweight canvas/linen uppers and a thin soft flexible, quite smooth rubber lower in a slip-on makes for a nice driving shoe
They'll barely pass tech inspection at an autocross or karting place for how thin and lightweight they are.
dems not shoes....dems slippers.

Those look like prison bobos.
I'll stick with lightweight Adidas/Merril's or similar.
I like being able to actually snug the laces down on my feet so they don't move around while I'm making Walter Rohrl disappointed with my heel/toe work.

There's a reason for that, even the best wheelman can't outrun the radio all of the time.
For others like me who didn't recognize the name, Lidl is a discount grocery store on the east coast. https://www.lidl.com

Largest supermarket chain in europe privately owned by a reclusive german family.. Only two photographs known of the CEO ever.. but when you are worth 10B Euro who cares.

I had assumed he mis-spelled Aldi. So is Lidl like aldi? Grocery's and a isle of tempting random stuff?
In reply to TJL (Forum Supporter) :
Exactly right, they're direct competitors and very similar. A Lidl was recently constructed just up the street (one block from Aldi) and we've found that Aldi has better canned goods and frozen vegetables, and Lidl has better meat selections (and sales), better cheese and bakery, and a better layout. Prices are pretty much the same. Both awesome stores.

This is easily the nicest thing that could be said of those shoes.
And yes, Lidl is cheap store brand goods, surprisingly good bakery and produce, a few national brands sprinkled in and a rotating collection of cheap chinesium tools and goods that you'd never expect to find in a grocery store.
Never been in an Aldi's, but I gather it's pretty much the same.

If youve never been to also- go. Once. I can't stand Aldi, I've always had really bad luck with their produce and stuff...though the knockoff spicy slim Jim's were pretty good.
The real experience is with the cashier. Linda will fire cans of peas at you like it's a berkeleyin howitzer and you have to be on your game or you're gonna berkeley up her scan rate which is actually a metric they measure on. It's hilarious.

See I can't stand Also, but love Lidl. The selection and quality is night as day to me. I could never get everything that I need for a week at Aldi, and I can at Lidl and they have little."trader joes" type I didn't know that I needed that type snacks and things. I judge a store on their maple syrup, honey oils, coffee and hot sauce selections. Lidl passes the test.
I learned recently that the battery packs their tools use are Samsung's and that's where to go for replacements. I've only purchased lawn tools and bits so far, but they do the job.
I think I've actually been inside a grocery store once in the last 7-8 months.
Wanna know something that grinds my gears? "Aldi's".
Where the berkeley do you see an "S" in that name? Are you going to more than one? I mean, I guess we can make a case for the possessive, but what is it of theirs that you're going to?
IT IS ALDI. Stop adding the S.
I haven't been in an Aldi since ~2004 but I recall it not being a good experience. I've been in Lidl once and have no desire to ever go back. You can't even drink while you shop!

I do not mind "you's guys". Local vernacular is fine. But you hear Aldi's everywhere - I've heard it in Kentucky, central IL, Chicago, suburbs, Da UP, Wisconsin, North Carolina... Why? Why was an "S" added? You never hear someone say "We went to Costcos"...
Anyone finds a pair in size 14 let me know?

Aldi redid a lot of their stores a few years back and they look much nicer now.

If you're my grandmother, aunt, or several other (mostly geriatric, southern, women) I know, it's Wall Marks, 2 words, yes a K not a T, and plural. "Going to Wall Marks to pick up some groceries"
As for the shoes, have arches? Ever had plantar fasciitis? Bet you will.
My $400, custom, orthopedic, inserts are giving them a hard pass.
