It looks to me like some Music/Drama students got lost and ended up in the wrong classroom. Figures.

I don't really understand your point, but whatever. Asian parents have the right idea getting their kids to go into degree programs vs trades. Engineering classrooms across Canada are proof of this.

I got my biochemistry degree at UCSD and probably half + the class was asian, didn't bother me. The funny thing is many people make the asians out to be inherently smart and it isn't so, they have to do the work also. The only thing that scares me is if one of those guys has the swine flu and a nasty cough, talk about the perfect place to spread disease.

Quoted For Truth. They seem to be raised to respect the need for work more than the average American student. Probably 25% of the kids in my chemistry classes only went to class every few days. They were mystified how I knew the answers to questions - it's because I showed up to class and studied, dumbE36 M3s!

I hope this is what everyone got out of my comment and is what I meant. Coupled with the fact that FOB asian parents are typically super strict!

The majority of students in engineering classes are pretty serious and expect a reasonable return on what they're paying for. At least that's been my experience.

If that happened in my class, I'd call Security and collect the tests.
When Security arrived, I'd dismiss everyone who had not jumped on the desks. Names of the "desk-jumpers" would go to the Dean of Students to decide what should be done with them.
The test would be given at a later date and the people who disturbed the test would receive an F.

Probably my biggest gripe with being an engineering student is 80% of my peers are such tight-wads they cannot, and will not, allow themselves a split second of comedy unless it's the weekend and they are E36 M3faced. You're in school to realize a more successful life, not just a larger paycheck. Have some fun and screw up every now and then.

Engineering programs have pretty much the whole deck stacked against their students in just about every respect, if you can't find comedy in it, I feel really bad for you.

Because it was posted on the Internet, it must be true.

It may have been during an actual exam, it may have been staged, but there's no way to tell. I suspect it was staged.

Also, I paid for my own way through engineering school but I still thought it was humorous.

So, pay close attention. The professor starts playing the violin, so he's in on the whole thing, and the board says 15 minutes remaining, which means time was likely up and if anything students got more time if they could stand to work through the performance.

It was amusing. Now, back to arguing about Asians, or whatever is happening here...

is what I know about Toronto... the ISP I worked for decided to start outsourcing call centers... the first outsourcing was Toronto... when we had to transfer people to them or from them it was just like talking to any other overseas call center you might deal with... ESL and poorly spoken

as for the performance... I got a kick out of it... and the Prof getting in on it just after he was "dissed" was pretty awesome IMHO... I always appreciate teachers/academics who don't take themselves to seriously...
