No, it's not like an Abraham and Sarah kind of thing.
But a fine young man who I have very much enjoyed getting to know for the last year proposed to my eldest daughter today.
Some of you have raced with her- we used to call her "Yu-go,Girl".
But my clan is expanding, and I thought I'd share the great news with the hive...
...or the club
...or the gang
...or whatever you are.
Life is good.
He isn't a car guy is he? You don't want your daughter getting mixed up with that type
On behalf of me and my wife (aka Abraham and Sarah), congrats and welcome to a new chapter!

Nothing good comes from marrying a car guy. Just ask my wife.

Nope.
I'm not even sure he knows which end the engine is in.
Suits me fine.
Congrats! I like that you are excited about this new son, instead of bemoaning a "lost" daughter. Love is a great thing.

We love gaining members of our family.
My son's wife calls me her "Father-in-Love".
Hopefully, my SIL won't call me that.

People think I'm pretty weird when they ask me how many kids I have, and I include my kid's spouses in the total.
Oh well.
I always have a better day when I hear/see something positive to start it, instead of the all too common negativity. Thank you, Paul and congratulations.

Sounds normal to me. My in-laws did the same, even to the point that all 5 kids and their spouses, children, etc. would go to visit on Sunday afternoons.
Seemed a little strange to me at first, but I got used to it. In-laws are long gone but the family is still a tight knit group. As I have gotten older I appreciate having a large group of people(34) to depend on if I need help.
I hope I have many, many years with my daughter.

Completely unmodified late model plain vanilla Accord.
Good thing, too. I need him to balance my imbalance.

Trust me...
...that time will go MUCH faster than you can POSSIBLY imagine.
Don't waste a minute.
Cheater. You're supposed to find out the sex on the day of birth. Maybe its just the umbilical cord and the jokes on you.
