Creed Vs. Nickelback.
Who's worse?
GO!
I tried to give serious consideration to the question before formulating an answer. I fell asleep three times in the process.
what's really scary ... at least for me ... is I've actually heard of both of those... wouldn't listen to either .... unless I was being paid Loto amounts of money
Coldplay is the exact kind of music that is going to happen when computers get smart enough to make fun of humans.
That being said, Nickelback is worse.
I just don't care. I don't even find anything really hate-able about Nickelback, other than Chad Kroeger appears to be a colossal shiny happy person. But the music is pretty much unoffensive, unremarkable pop-rock. Can't understand why it's so in vogue to hate them.
It's formula rock at the lowest level, but the sound of that guy's voice just makes me cringe. I bet I'm not alone.

I think chad is creepy.
Joey
I was in my teens when Creed and Nickelback became "popular". I've listened to a lot of their music, and I owned several of their albums.
Creed is, by far, worse than Nickelback.
Both suck...hard.
i gotta say that i respect Creed for at least putting a lot of effort into making their own brand of sucky music. love it or hate it, but they have their own style.
Nickelback is just an overproduced generic bar band that somehow got all famous.
I whole heatedly agree with Maroon92, Would rather listen to all of Nickelback's albums start to finish than listen to one of Creed's songs. I wish I could go back in time and stop them from ever being.
I would rather stick a hot soldering iron into my ear canals, punching through my drums than listen to either of these for more than one track in a row.
I'm with Lesley, I don't see what is so hateable about them. Besides, it has been 5 years since Nickleback was big, 10 since Creed.
Current Nickelback still hits the top 40 rock radio in my area on an alarmingly regular basis. Creed thankfully has faded.
Although I don't like Chad Kroeger's voice, it's the jeckyll and hyde style of their albums that bothers me. You'll have a really happy radio single like "If today was your last day" and then a stupid trashy song like "Something in your mouth." I just wish they'd pick one over the other.
Now Creed, I don't hate them as a band, I just loathe Scott Stapp. Ever listen to Altar Bridge? Same band, different vocalist. Alter Bridge I really like, I think Scott Stapp tries to be Eddie Vedder too much.
Now to get those two bands out of my head, I'm going to listen to Five Finger Death Punch.
I'm not sure what Creed sound like, but I don't think Nickleback are necessarily any E36 M3tier than everything else currently getting airtime on commercial radio.

Hmmm, the 2 top 40 Rock stations near me, one is too heavy to play much NB, and the other has too much of an identity crisis, it thinks it is classic rock half the time, and way too much '80s.
Flame away, But I will take Creed and Nickleback over those Aquanet abomination, hair band Bob Costas any day.

Those bands are the Creed and Nickleback of the 80s. This would be a Poison vs Whitesnake thread if it was 87. And I would come in with Slayer to fix things.
But since it's 2011, I shall come in with Devin Townsend to fix things. While listening to Slayer.

Agreed - Nickleback is too meh to inspire any serious hate in me. Well, there are one or two songs they've released that I found rather irritating, but most of them were, well, competent enough that I usually don't change the station if one comes by on the radio.
Creed's music, though, seems kind of like boiled shrimp. It's OK when it first comes out, but after a little bit of time goes by it REALLY starts to stink. Although as others have noted, Scott Stapp's voice probably deserves a sizable amount of the blame. It could be worse, though - could you imagine Billy Corgan trying to sing "With Arms Wide Open?"
