Spent the day in Colorado Springs yesterday, and I really haven't spent much time there in my life even though I grew up not far away near Denver.
I didn't spend the day driving, but still just happened across a yellow lotus elan (the fwd early nineties ones), an olive jaguar xj series 1, and a grey skyline. All were on the road, moving around.
Not a bad haul of relatively rare cars in one day!
Not really. You get some interesting cars that float in from the Military presence there. I would imagine that most peeps were just getting their toys out for one last drive before winterizing them. I know that is what I did today.
Greg Gear Head who advertises some of his stuff here will have some interesting euro rides: https://greggearhead.com/cars-for-sale.html

I didn't really get that vibe in CS but some of those roads through the Rockies are OMFG amazing. A lot of people seem to go for the 4wd stuff out there though.
Its a crazy place during the Pikes Peak event week.
I looked at greggearhead site...
Holly cow! Now I know why there are several VW Vanagans running around town with Subaru engines in them and why Keith has one. There asking $45k for it!!
I saw a whole bunch of Porsches when we were there last month, but they'd been up Piles Peak earlier that day. I did see some other cool vintage stuff cruising around though.

Yep, I went in 2018 and it is a great time that week.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread as I just happen to be in Colorado Springs this week for a conference. I rented a model three performance off of Turo to play around with it. I've been enjoying some drives into the mountains. I kept my eyes open today to see if there were any interesting vehicles out there. Followed a 993 Carrera 4S convertible for a while. Then passed an absolutely mint BRG E-type coupe. Also saw what looked like an old Chevrolet Belair in perfect condition. Lots of WRX's cruising the streets (Subarus and Teslas are everywhere) and even saw an R32 skyline. So there are at least a few interesting cars out here.

We wanted to go to a Cars and Coffee at Greg Gear Head but missed the one this month. There's one in November that I'm planning on going to.
I've been here just over 4 years and wouldn't say it's a great car scene, but pretty good. There's a lot of stuff lurking in garages that comes out occasionally. I've seen several Ferraris and Lambos, but all newer stuff. I've only seen a few British cars running around, and will occasionally spot an Alfa or Fiat. There are more jacked up trucks driven by Mario Andretti wannabes around here than sporty cars. Unfortunately, the street racing scene also appears to be fairly active, so lots of STIs and Hondas with bumpers held on by racer tape. At least they are enthusiastic.
