So my 07 Mazda 3 has been squeaking lately. It's pretty much constant the entire time the car is on. Even with the A/C off there's still a steady squeak. I've got 106k on the clock right now, and I'm worried it might be the water pump about to give up the ghost. Is there an easy way to check?

Does the squeaking stop if you remove the dipstick?

Unless it is belt squeal, I'd be looking in the direction of the tensioner or idler bearing

A loose/bad belt will shriek when you blip the throttle. Pop the belt off and turn over all the pulleys by hand.
