would it be wrong to point out that probably 75% of the field that started that race at Daytona not only didn't have a HANS or similar head restraint, but they also had open face helmets and i think wearing gloves was optional at that time, too, and it wasn't an issue until that day..
would it also be wrong to point out that guy that died at the Indy car race last year because his head was hanging out in the open when he crashed- or that F1 guy a few years ago that was almost a vegetable for life because he took a spring to the face because they insist on not having a cockpit on their cars?
