I watch MOTORTREND+ every day when I'm on the Stairmaster... and I am literally on that machine every day.

Fred Williams just announced that Dirt Every Day is not coming back (they dropped Dirt Every Day Extra over a year ago).

This was far and away the most informative build-your-own-stuff show out there.

I am seriously bummed out about this.

There have been other recent changes with Hot Rod Garage and probably other stuff too. I have to wonder if the whole "channel" is slowly failing and if it will all be going away soon.

I actually didn't mind paying for a subscription, because I felt that I got so much out of it.

Very disappointed.

It seems like every time I open the program menu, there's less that I'm interested in.

I canceled mine a few months ago for a few reasons. Tony leaving HRG was a big part of it, then their Apple TV app became unusable and I couldn't watch Dirt Every Day. It's a shame but I guess that's what happens when you get bought by a giant company.

I don't mind the subscription side but when it went to its own app I was a bit dejected and let mine lapse.

Dirt Every Day made me want to buy a Jeep....

.. and then I actually went and bought a berkeleying Jeep.

^That's pretty effective marketing, right there.

Jeep should find a way to put Fred Williams to work for them.

Motor Trend TV is now part of Warner Brothers Discovery. Warner Brothers Discovery has been slashing and burning through its properties, from HBO Max (see you later Sesame Street, among others) to DC Comics (see you later Batgirl movie).

There's now a lawsuit involving Warner Brothers Discovery and the Motor Trend Group: https://news.bloomberglaw.com/business-and-practice/warner-bros-discovery-sued-by-motor-trend-joint-venture-partner

I've been considering dropping since they lost the old top gear specials. Dirt every day was basically my last reason to stay, since I've been getting a bit tired of Friberger and Finnegan. And all their TV type stuff hasn't held any appeal for me anyways. Guess I'll save some money now

Sucks about Dirt Every Day.

Derek from Vice Grip Garage has a show on MT coming out later next month, which is basically his revival stuff but with a real camera crew. I don't really watch MT much these days, but I'll definitely be watching that. He also says it will not impact what he does on YouTube, which will remain exactly as it is.

Also related, I've been enjoying Tony Angelo's YouTube content. Happy to see him doing well on there.

Huge bummer. Those two are great and I loved watching Dave fabricate. Good thing they're both doing youtube.

That's the only show worth watching anymore. I tried to get interested in the new American top gear but I just can't.

I think, as far as the original series went, Dirt Every Day was probably the least-watched of them all. Most of the people I know who use MTOD watch Roadkill, Roadkill Garage, Faster With Finnegan, and Hot Rod Garage but I find very few people who watch Dirt Every Day. For me, the dialogue always just felt really stilted and forced between Dave and Fred, like one of those instances where you find out years down the road that two hosts of a show hated each other outside of work. If I were to watch an off-roading show on MTOD, I'd much rather have had one with Rick Pewe and David Freiburger.

As for Tony Angelo leaving Hot Rod Garage, I know that just came down to him moving back to the East Coast where he was originally from and then finding that it was too much of a strain to be going back and forth to California once a month (he's a dad with a couple young kids), which was why he left. Honestly, I'm kinda shocked that Finnegan has held in as long as he has, being in a similar situation. They have announced they're replacing Tony with Alex Taylor though, who I think will have a really fun dynamic with Lucky, and I've seen clips of the first car they've built on Tom Bailey's channel and it's berkeleying hardcore.

I canceled my subscription after I finished watching the last season of Dirt Every Day. That was the one show left besides HRG with Tony that I enjoyed. I will definitely be subscribing to Fred and Daves YouTube channels and hopefully that will fill the void with no more episodes on MotorTrend.

Lucky posts videos on his own YouTube channel.  His videography is basic at best, but he runs a lot of interesting projects through his shop.

Sad to see it go, but not surprising. Like others have said, once a large conglomerate buys an enthusiast publication its days are numbered. Many years ago I was an intern at Dobbs publications in Lakeland. All the old Dobbs titles (Mustang Monthly, Super Ford just to name two) got axed in a corporate blood letting about 10 years ago. So sad that bean counters reign supreme. Makes me glad that GRM is in safe hands.

Loved Dirt Every Day!  Didn't know Tony left HRG, I really liked how he and Lucky got along.  I'm not a huge fan of Faster with Finnegan the newer Roadkill just seems way more contrived.  I still like Roadkill Garage and Engine Masters tho.

Well crap, that sucks. I am working my way back through Dirt Every Day from the beginning and it was so easy to watch. See interesting solutions to fab dilemmas and Fred and Dave just being normal, happy people. I get more from Finnegans YouTube than I do from their Motortrend shows.

I'll stick with MTOD as long as Freiburger is there, the day they axe him I'm out.

I subscribe to everyone's YT's and Instagrams (Freiburger and Dulcich are particularly good) and I love Tony Angelo's channel. I love that it's not scripted (and they always make fun of "we're gonna lose the shop!!") and all the hosts are genuine. DED was good and I'm not even a truck guy.

I'm still keeping my subscription for now.  I hope they are not going to follow the Netflix model of adding new shows and canceling longer running ones(even if they are popular) in order to have a wider catalog in an effort to get new subscribers.  Dirt Every Day was one of my favorites, but I do like the Roadkills, HRG, and Faster with Finnegan, specifically because they don't have Discovery/TLC/History Channel style fake drama.

I didn't watch DED very much, but sad to see it go. They did good creative  fab work.

Faster w/Finnegan doesn't do much for me, but I do like Finnegans garage on YT. Roadkill etc is still entertaining.  I don't watch online much anymore, just catch whatever is on TV, didn't know Tony was gone till now!

There are so many things on the online listing, and lots are just reruns.

I hope VGG doesn't  get screwed  up.

With so many media outlets for so many people, keeping up with it all would be a full time job ! I don't know how anyone can manage it.
