As an assachusetts resident, I must say the inspection process is pretty good, if its newr than 2000 it passes if it passes safety and no cel with readiness. If it's older than 00, it's emissions exempt and only gets safety, so anything older than 00 can be 1100hp and shoot fire out the exhaust and no one cares. Not the worst state for enthusiasts.
