Don't forget.
Cut a heart out of construction paper and wrote a sappy message. It's at her place at the kitchen table waiting for her to wake up absurdly early for work. Everything I need to know about valentines I learned in second grade.
I was dating a girl for a very long time a number of years ago and one year instead of a regular card I bought a box of grade school type Valentines and wrote something nice on each one, sealed each one individually, and presented them along with flowers and a gift of some sort.
She spent the rest of Valentine's day crying and yelling at me because I am apparently childish, she never noticed that about me in the five previous years, and real adults give real cards to people they actually love.
So, you know, be careful out there.
Authentic Mexican take out from a hole in the wall restaurant that's in the back of a local latin market served on china once brought home, homemade margaritas
She got a corny card and some candy before i left for work. Dinner after work since its also my anniversary.
Love my wife more than anything, but after being together 19 years and married 17, neither of us give a E36 M3 about Valentines Day anymore. It's all about getting some candy for the kids. At least I certainly hope she agrees with my sentiment...
Last night, she spent a solid 90 minutes with our 9 year old twins making Valentines' Day boxes and cards/candy to bring to school. Remember doing that as a kid??

I was thinking of stopping by Costco on the way home and picking up some tenderloin. She loves that more than anything on the earth.

I work with a guy that grew up on the "Sout' Side" of Milwaukee - Polish area. He says it that way, too. "What are youse guys doing for Balentime's Day?"
Makes my skin crawl.
I think I might buy some tires today
We'll do something nice this weekend when places aren't so crowded and flowers aren't overpriced (her request.)

I remember being the "weird" kid in 5th grade when we had to decorate our McDonald's bags to collect Valentine's cards and I decided to make mine look like a realistic heart copied from a medical textbook....
I've never been into Valentine's all that much because I feel like it's forced. SWMBO knows this and knows that I instead try to make sure the boy is taken care of, the dishes done, laundry kept up, etc. to reduce her number of things to worry about. Sent her an email this morning reminding her of that fact.
But, she's been crazy busy at work and stressed out, so I broke with tradition and sent her flowers and candy at work. I got the address right, but it's a big place. Hope she gets them!!!
Then seasoned ground beef and mashed potatoes for her dinner when she gets home (serious comfort food for her).

Don't worry about it.
You'll never be allowed to forget about it again.
We had a wonderful Valentines morning trying to get the one dog to eat and the other dog in the house.
Tonight we will celebrate by doing the dishes (her) and laundry (me) before I go to ref a hockey game.
