I couldn't help myself. At Target today they had little R/C cars on sale for $10. I was modding ZipZaps a few years ago and always liked the little R/C cars, but these look like old school Tamiya cars from the 80s!

It is a Micro RC Terrain Titan. Neat little car. Primitive controls, but a ton of fun.

Looks cool to me, or like an old school Tyco Turbo Hopper. Either way, 10$ for that kind of fun is hard to beat.

Looks like a Tamiya Hornet. What are the controls?

Alright, thanks to Mr. Dremel a ZipZap motor has now been transplanted to the Titan. Unfortunately the battery in the Titan doesn't seem up to the task. That's okay, I happen to have a few extra batteries. It is amazing how doubling the voltage really wakes up an electric motor!

It is on/off switch simple. Left/Right and then Forward/Reverse. All or nothing. It does have a "turbo" button that puts the speed at where I think it should be all the time.

The bodies are licensed from Tamiya. I think I might pick up the Hot Shot next.

Now to find a cat.....

I picked up the set - 4 different bodies, each on a different channel. It looked like a good deal for the "kids" who will likely be in my house Christmas morning, aged 20 to 48. I hope they do OK on my laminate flooring.
