Track day crashes at Nordschleife - Nürburgring
Just another day at the ring berkeleying cars up.
Many of those look like they're in the rain, so it's now all THAT surprising. That and the one downhill curve is obviously a big enough problem that they have a fixed camera watching it.
Was VERY glad it was sunny and bone dry the day I was there. Even so, there was a concern I'd not be able to drive it that day because somebody rolled a GT3- badly (OK, so there's likel no GOOD way to roll one...)- and the track was shut down for a good while as they cleaned it up.
I love how the first accident is a squalling nightmare of obvious panic braking. He/she hits the wall. Silence. Then you hear birds chirping merrily as he/she slinks away from the wall they recently collided with.
That mustang at about 3 minutes....holy crap I thought for sure the car behind it wasnt going to slow down in time.
Whilst we are discussing a rainsoaked nurburgring, here's some immensly tallented footage of Leh Keen, at night, in the rain. Still has a heck of a pucker factor.

What got me was the NSX at about 2:30 or so. On power oversteer in a car with 0 torque? I was confused.
Anyone know the name of the corner that is very popular in the video?
Is that that same one that Lauda almost died in?
Those people in the FWD cars spinning them... argh... probably really should not be on that track.
Some of the gravel / dirt thrown on the track is a bit scary also.
My thoughts:
1970s film with tourist day carnage. No audio, though. IIRC, a Super 8 with sound was seriously expensive back then. Getting a garage band to play a soundtrack was cheap. Three parts, all about 15min, I think.

That explains what happened to all the Fiat 850 coupes...

The person at 3:45 that almost gets thrown out only to get face bashed as it rolls back onto its wheels Ouchies.
In reply to Lancer007:
Yeah, that strikes me as the craziest thing in the vid. I watched Pt. 2, and there's even more ejections. Man, I thought Europe beat us to the punch on having seat belts in the street car.
Nurburgring is tough enough in the dry on my PS3. Would never attempt to try it in real life with a wet track, or wet grass in a car worth more than $500. Holy sheep dip, motorcycles and cars on the track at the same time? That could get ugly real quick. That sound of sheet metal meeting steel guard rail is very distinctive.
It was freaky being there and going past a wreck and having to brush it off and stay focused. After an early spin in front of an audience, I was extra circumspect in any areas with spectators.

There was one just after 7 minutes where it almost looked like someone just jumped out of a beetle GTA style while it was sliding to a stop.
were all cars as roll happy back then?

Man I thought the kids in the Beetle vert were gonna die in part II.
someone needs to make a Bennyhillifier that works with Liveleak..
Could you imagine if we had an open track day like that here in America? What do you think the most popular car to end up in the wall would be? BMW 3 series in that vid. I'd say Civic or whatever the popular drift car is this week.

Mustang. Fast enough to give you confidence that you're a race car driver, but probably on all seasons with squish-o-matic suspension. Go too fast into a turn, lift of the gas or hit brake, back into wall.

It was very nerve wracking when they opened the track to motorcycles when I was on it- only actually encountered a few though.
I was actually very glad I was in a FWD track car- I'd want to do it a few more times in it before trying something RWD.
