Yes he is, but not as himself, but as the husband of Michelle Yeoh.   Who was nominated for Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

Had no idea that they were married given their rather separate careers.  Learn something new everyday.

I was rather surprised to see him, too.

Have to say, it was kind of amusing to see his reaction, and then Michelle didn't mention him in her Oscar speech.

Not much cross over- I'm betting few movie people know who he is, too.  Even with DTS, he's not on at all- so all of the new F1 fans who are movie fans would not know who he is.

Jean Todt looked like he was utterly uninterested in being there - that, or having had a bit too much fun pregaming, or both.

I noticed him there up front.  Not that it matters, but I think they're just partners, not actually married.

Haven't watched the Oscars in years (even then, just kinda half watched), but ended up watching this year just in case any other nuttiness happened.  Gotta admit there were a couple of times the dust around my house must have gotten stirred up.  Specifically Ke Huy Quan and Brendan Fraser's speeches and Travolta's reaction to the In Memorium intro.

Until Michelle won, at least.  Then he got up and celebrated.

Jean Todt was the GM at Ferrari duing Mike's glory days.  One of the best eras ever for the prancing horse.

Michelle Yeoh is an actor who has been in some cool movies- like Crouching Tiger-Hidden Dragon as well as winning an Oscar last night leading Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

And the former fia president. Before Ferrari he was team boss for Peugeot in rallying and sports cars including their Le Mans wins. Like a number of other team bosses including David richards  of prodrive he was a rally co driver.

Also for a hot second in the early 1990s Michelle Yeoh was regarded as the female Jackie Chan. She was in a few action movies and did her own stunts. Jackie felt upstaged by her in Supercop where she jumped a dirt bike on to a moving train.

Go watch Supercop, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. It will be several hours well spent.

Her recent stuff is a lot more varied - definitely understand that this forum doesn't tend towards the rom-coms, but she was great in Crazy Rich Asians. Then Star Trek: Discovery, a minor (but good!) part in Shang Chi, and of course Everything Everywhere All at Once

Yeah, I have to agree that is an unusual paring. At least in respects that you wouldn't expect their paths to cross regularly.

I bet rally co-drivers make very accommodating partners.

Well, I learned 3 things today. There was an Oscars, a Ferrari guy is married to an actress, and an actress is married to a Ferrari guy.

I'm not sure that it's info worthy of remembering but I have it for now.

For everyone saying that Hollywood is out of original ideas, or that everything is a sequel or remake, check out Everything Everywhere All At Once. It's pretty freaking good, and completely original. I don't know that it's "sweep the Oscars" good, but I did enjoy it quite a lot. And Michelle is, indeed, excellent in it.

But to me she'll always be Wai Lin from Tomorrow Never Dies. One of the few "Bond girls" who was very much the equal of Bond.
