I worked on a farm during college that had one of these:

It sucked at just about everything. Slow, gutless, huge turning radius, dump bed that couldn't actually be dumped with any significant weight in it. I really can't think of a single thing it was allegedly designed for that it was actually good at.
There was a long gradual slope between two different pastures about 3/4 mile apart, we'd put it in neutral and let it coast down the hill because it was faster than actually trying to drive it down the hill.

What is a PTO?
Power Take Off - Think the shaft on the rear of tractors to run tillers, snowblowers, etc. It's basically an extra driveshaft off the transmission for utilities
Power Take Off.

Once upon a time SUV stood for Sport UTILITY Vehicle.

OK, now I want a Jeep with a tow behind mower deck. Really really badly. Can you put a PTO on any of the CJ Jeeps or do I need to look for something in particular?
I know my 66 had the same hitch and transfer case style that is shown in the photo. I would have had to add the pto on the transfer case, shafts, output, and punch the floor.
Do able for sure
The PTO's are fairly rare, IIRC. There was a Jeep Backhoe attachment as well..

Yeah, I've been looking at Jeeps all morning too. Anyone wanna buy a 1984 Mercury Marquis? It's a Fox body! New tires, too!

the nicest land cruiser you can find gets my vote, solid axles on coil springs front and back, stout torquey engine, can fit 33/12.5's stock

Kubota makes a gator that outgators the gators? Would do everything well and be cheaper long term for maintenance.
We HAD a Kubota here at work. It got stolen last week on a job site. It was just short of awesome.
I was at a Willys show in Columbia, MO a few years back, and saw a guy doing this with his PTO, best use I've seen yet.

These are simple to fix, easy to drive and fun. This one is a 1947 CJ-2.
Used small Kubota tractor.

I like this one. If one can be had with a loader for that price that sounds like a great thing to have.
