My employer handles claims for one of the chains (not JL, but a competitor). If you've seen what I have, you'd never grace their doorway.

We insure a lot of quick lube places too. Yeah, you see train wrecks there. However, they aren't all like that and in the insurance business we only see the ones that go wrong, so we get jaded. I use a local quick lube for my daily beater and am happy to do it. I wouldn't take my 996 there, but a Prius, etc...sure.
Same can hold true for restaurants. My company also writes general liability insurance. If you've seen the E36 M3 I have with restaurants, you'd never eat in another one, anywhere.
I worked at a quick lube place in high school and a couple summers in college. Many thousands of oil changes over that time. We bought one engine from an improperly tightened oil filter.
Funny thing happened to me with that photo... I saw it in the meme thread a while back(not knowing the location of the picture) and thought "I wonder if that's common for quick lube places". Off to Google maps satellite I went. I'm near Columbus, Ohio, so that's where I started. "Ah, there's a Jiffy Lube on North High, let's zoom in and have a look". It was the same as the meme thread photo! What are the chances on that!
Sure, some quick lubes are better than others, but I couldn't take a chance on 'em!
In reply to TheRyGuy :
The first time I saw it in the meme thread I didn't even think of it. This time I saw the street name and thought it sounded familiar. I used to live about a mile south of there.
I searched for "Jiffy Lube" locally and in addition to the one in the photo there were 12 other matches. Every single one had a bunch of oil spots and streaks at the exit - way more than at the entrance. What an eye opener!
So am I the only one that goes to those places with hopes they will break my motor so they can get me a new one?
Unfortunately it's not just the jiffy-type places that miss things and make mistakes. I'm expecting delivery of a lightly used 1GR in a day or two and the shop is a little short handed. E36 M3 happens, and usually it's someone that is too busy running their flap to pay attention to following procedure.
