William Hampel gets wrong Jimmy John's order, runs over employee
Brentwood, MO (KSDK) - Prosecutors in St. Louis County have charged a local man with two counts of felony assault and two counts of felony armed criminal action after police say he ran over a Jimmy John's employee because his order was wrong.
Police say 19-year-old William Hampel placed an order at the Jimmy John's store in the 1200 block of Strassner drive on July 2nd.
When the driver delivered the order, Hampel claims he received the wrong sandwich. The employee explained the policy, that they would refund the money or give him a new sandwich, but Hampel refused to give back the order. The driver left.
Police say around 12:10am, Hampel returned to the Jimmy John's and caused a disturbance inside the store. Court documents say that Hampel cursed and threatened the employees and then grabbed a large bag of trash from outside the business and tossed it inside. An employee contacted police, and she and another employee followed the suspect out of the store to try and get his license number.
That is when police say Hampel drove at one of the employees and hit her, causing serious physical injuries. A second employee was injured while diving out of the way to avoid Hampel's vehicle.
Hampel is not in police custody, but does have a warrant out for his arrest.

Leave it to some punk ass kid...
I have learned in life to not mess with peoples paychecks (money), girlfriends, their ride, or their food.
I cant imagine a sammich error (that can be fixed via refund or replacement) warrants being run over...
They forgot the avacado on my Beach Club the other day. I totally under-reacted.
Avacado? Hell yes, you did.
The pizza joint by work regularly undercooks their pies or forgets key ingredients. Remind me to do an 85mph kamikazee run through their store.
Ouch, now I'm tempted to drive 25 miles for a sandwich.
When I worked for Pizza ....., a LOT of our customers had trouble grasping the idea that if the order was wrong, they needed to return the "wrong" order to get a replacement or a refund.
Really, if you go to the trouble to call the store and complain, why should you get to keep the "bad" order AND get your order replaced or refunded? I almost always got the "excuse" we threw out the bad pizza or when the pizza was returned 75% was MISSING?

I think these things are more common if one is self medicating with alcohol and/or drugs...

I worked in pizza for ten years, and we would only want the pizza back if there was a strange problem, not just wrong or forgotten toppings. The messed up pizza was viewed as the compensation. The replacement pizza was viewed as the originally ordered pizza.

That's no different from the other thread about how people will get a meal 'comped' only because they don't feel like paying. Same E36 M3ty attitude.
joey48442,
I know my grammar often sux, but could you please explain the meaning of:
"....we would ONLY want the pizza back if there was a strange problem, not JUST wrong or forgotten toppings."
Where I worked, it seemed as though 75% of the folks who complained, CLAIMED we got their order wrong, and they wanted the replacement because they were still hungry. Yet, when you went to get the "wrong" pizza from them, they "claimed" they had already thrown it out. Me? I rarely complain about orders at restaurants, unless the food is just wrong, that is undercooked or the order doesn't come close to what was asked for. I don't normally expect the restaurant to comp my meals for a wrong or undercooked order, especially if they offer to "fix" or replace the meal. But many of the customers I had, apparently think their inconvenience allowed them to rip us off for the cost of a pizza.

Yeah, for example if the customer bit into something weird or something like that.
We kept track of mistakes as well and wouldn't keep comping pizzas for habitual offenders.
